Which Nuclear exclude fission and allow fusion may be the real story with the renewables. batteries and hydrogen energy for the whole world not just for the rich and few 39 countries.

At COP28 I was interviewed by Kiersten Sundell from Generation Atomic. Always pleased to give my perspective on how Denmark is not the global green leader. The truth is that we still get around 90% of our energy from burning stuff i.e. coal, gas, oil and biomass. The last 10% comes from green energy sources as wind and solar (IEA, 2022). Electricity in Denmark only accounts for 20% of the total energy consumed, and around 50% of Denmarks electricity are produced by wind and solar, why only 10% of total energy consumption. The electrification of other sectors in Denmark will of course reduce our energy demand as electric cars are way more efficient than using traditional fossil fuels. But at the same time energy demand will rise because of population growth and PtX production for various industries and sectors (Energistyrelsen, 2023). Leaving out nuclear energy from the equation may have detrimental effects on our environment, energy supply and security.

An insightful overview of Sodium-cooled Fast Reactors (SFRs). I am staying hopeful for a comeback of the technology. SFRs represent a substantial advancement in sustainable energy, with their enhanced fuel efficiency and effective waste management. Who knows?
