We are thrilled to announce that Advanced Nuclear Advisors (ANA) has been awarded a GAIN Voucher from the U.S. Department of Energy to support our innovative Project Spark-Hub. You can find the announcement here . This project aims to develop sites that accommodate both data centers, and new nuclear reactors, addressing the urgent need for clean, reliable power in the rapidly expanding data center sector. This collaboration will enable ANA to rapidly identify and prioritize optimal sites for hosting both data centers and nuclear reactors as an integrated solution, streamlining the path to deployment. Why This Matters: · Meeting Growing Power Demands: As data centers expand, so does their need for sustainable, uninterrupted power. · GAIN Award: DOE’s Gateway for Accelerated Innovation in Nuclear provides access and funding that will enable ANA to use DOE’s state of the art database, people and computers · New Nuclear Solutions: Project Spark-Hub will identify and license sites capable of hosting both data centers and advanced nuclear reactors, paving the way for rapid deployment. · Decarbonizing the Future: By combining nuclear energy with digital infrastructure, we are contributing to a cleaner, more reliable energy future. We’re proud to be leading the charge in aligning nuclear innovation with the needs of the data center industry. Stay tuned for more updates as we embark on this exciting journey at https://lnkd.in/g_N2rJnb #AdvancedNuclear #ProjectSparkHub #NuclearEnergy #DataCenters #CleanEnergy #GAINVoucher #Innovation #EnergyTransition #Sustainability Feel free to reach out if you'd like to learn more about our project!

Westinghouse's eVinci nuclear microreactor is set to revolutionize energy distribution with a compact 5MW design, slated for testing by 2026. 🔋 Milestone achieved: Westinghouse completed the critical FEEED (Front-End Engineering and Experimenting Design) phase, clearing the path for its test reactor to operate at the Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) advanced microreactor test bed by 2026. 🚛 Designed for remote areas: The eVinci reactor’s compact size and water-free operation make it ideal for hard-to-reach areas, supporting remote mining and data centers. 🌍 Sustainability: Each reactor reduces CO2 emissions by 55,000 tons annually, contributing to cleaner energy solutions worldwide. 🛠️ Modular design: With an 8-year operational cycle, the reactor is easily replaceable like a battery, offering both efficiency and low maintenance. 🌐 Global deployment plans: Westinghouse aims to deploy multiple eVinci units globally by the end of the decade, with the first reactor set for Saskatchewan, Canada by 2029. #CleanEnergy #NuclearInnovation #Sustainability 🔑 The TRISO (Tristructural-Isotropic) fuel used is more resistant to corrosion and high temperatures, ensuring long-term reliability. 🚧 Plans for deployment include an $80 million project in Canada, paving the way for future installations worldwide. 🏗️ NRIC (National Reactor Innovation Center): The test bed facility, DOME (Demonstration of Microreactor Experiments), will be the first of its kind for microreactor testing. https://lnkd.in/gmCkJuBh

Did you know that with the introduction of a nuclear power program in South Africa in the 1970s, it became apparent that radioactive waste management would be necessary? This led to the need for a national site for the disposal of the country's nuclear waste. #nuclearpower #SouthAfrica #radioactivewaste #Radioactive #Wastedisposal #Didyouknow #NRWDI

Back in 2021, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission asked Galois to explore the most secure, efficient, and practical ways to begin integrating digital technologies into plant protection and control systems. The resulting RDE work is paving the way for a future where critical systems like nuclear power plants can wisely use digital technology for control that’s secure from adversaries, while simultaneously saving them time and money, and making certification easier. Learn more in our latest article.

The nuclear power plant is equipped with numerous automated devices that facilitate its operation. The reactor is equipped with reliable monitoring systems that can be trusted to initiate shutdown procedures and implement other precautionary measures in the case of a significant incident. An operator plays a crucial role in , proactively preventing issues whenever possible, promptly addressing any incidents, and mitigating their potential impact on the environment. Several occurrences are probable to occur during the lifespan of a nuclear power facility. One of the most common consequences is the disruption of a power grid. #electricalengineering #nuclearenergy #nuclearpower #nuclearjobs

🇳🇱⚛️🎛️ Last week, EPZ (ENS Corporate Member) inaugurated the control room #simulator to train operators at the #Borssele nuclear power plant, in the #Netherlands. This simulator, an exact copy of the Dutch NPP control room, was previously located in Essen, Germany. ⚛️🌱🏭 As a brilliant metaphor for #decarbonisation, the nuclear simulator is located in one of the existing buildings on the EPZ site, which was previously housing the control room of the old #coal-fired power station, a plant demolished in 2019. 👷♀️⚛️👷♂️ From now on, Borssele employees can spend their #training weeks on-site, maintaining their high-skilled preparation and developing the #skills for the future. Indeed, EPZ has already started the study into an operational life extension beyond 2034, when the current legislation says that the #nuclear power plant will close. ▶️ https://lnkd.in/d_7cNgkf

EVP Canada, Nuclear at AtkinsRéalis and President and CEO Candu Energy Inc. Helping to engineer a better future for our planet and its people.
As the Original Equipment Manufacturer of CANDU technology, explaining the merits of nuclear power is an important part of my job at AtkinsRéalis, and one I enjoy. Increasingly, journalists have taken an interest in the technology; the nuclear renaissance, the energy transition, and government interest in life extension of CANDU assets or even in building new ones, likely explains why. In speaking to Paul Day from Reuters, I explained the unique features of CANDU technology that lend themselves well to life-extensions (think of replacing the engine in a really good car). I also had the chance to talk about our new, 1,000 MW CANDU MONARK reactor- the most powerful and advanced CANDU unit ever conceived. https://lnkd.in/gGgEbgpS #CANDUforCanada #NetZeroNeedsNuclear

With utility power at the forefront of the US domestic infrastructure crisis, witnessing US policies evolving to promote clean nuclear energy is encouraging. Advocating for increased clean energy sources, the deployment of Small Modular Reactors (SMR) & Microreactors can expedite our clean energy objectives. The impact of Plant Vogtle in GA is already evident, reaching across the southeast and significantly contributing to the US's clean energy output. The idea of retrofitting abandoned coal mines with new nuclear plants is intriguing. West Virginia needs all the love we can give them. Let's hope they are on the shortlist.
