Community microgrids can significantly impact urban areas by enhancing energy resilience, reducing carbon emissions, and promoting sustainable development. They enable communities to generate, store, and manage their own energy, leading to improved energy security and potential cost savings. Additionally, microgrids can support the integration of renewable energy sources, contributing to cleaner urban environments.
The much-watched #Bronzeville Community #Microgrid was formally deployed today (May 24), the result of a collaborative effort that aims to demonstrate the benefits of an urban #communitymicrogrid – and eventually – #nested microgrids. Major development towards supporting the US power grid: Torus Community is now live. Community is a distributed energy management tool designed to enhance grid resilience by leveraging microgrid technology that turns residential and commercial buildings into miniature power plans. Torus Community allows residential and commercial users in Utah to lower their carbon footprint, reduce energy costs, and tackle the grid's supply and demand challenges head-on. But this is more than just saving money—it's about making a real impact. With Torus Community, commercial buildings can now support the energy needs of hundreds, even thousands, of homes, especially during peak demand times. I am excited to work with this team, which has solved the last mile of the problem of distributed energy. #EnergyInnovation #GridStability #Sustainability #EnergyManagement #TorusCommunity
From the very start at Torus, we believed that if customers could see themselves as part of a larger movement—and realize they don’t have to sacrifice their own energy security to give back and help their communities expand and stabilize their local electrical grid—then we had something truly special! Over the past several years, we’ve been proving that belief right. I couldn’t be more proud of the team for bringing this monumental Community feature to life! 😊 It’s a core principle of our Mission, guiding everything we do. Check it out! :

Dale is getting this plow ready before the team starts burying fiber underground in rural Virginia. It's time to take connectivity to the next level. Burying fiber underground is no small feat, but our crews are geared up for the challenge. We're transforming the landscape of digital communication in the U.S. Closing the digital divide is more than a project, it's a mission to connect homes and businesses to weave a stronger, more connected community. We're not just burying cables; we're building bridges to a brighter, more connected tomorrow. #FiberOptics #DigitalFuture #Connectivity #TechInnovation

Consider the crucial role of natural gas in keeping us warm during frigid winter weather. From heating our homes to powering gas furnaces, natural gas plays a vital role in maintaining comfort during chilly days. Understanding the connection between cold weather and natural gas highlights the importance of reliable energy sources in navigating the winter season. #WinterEnergy #NaturalGas #Tomorrowison
Many parts of North America are in a deep freeze. Luckily, we live in a place that has ready access to affordable, reliable energy. And it’s thanks to our field workers who brave the elements to help keep the lights on and our houses warm. Stay safe out there. #tomorrowison

Update. North Herefordshire is not a haven for chargers however, having been here for a week and the next journey is up to Nottingham we decided to top up to 80% (200 miles). Went back to the Instavolt at the OK Diner. Only one charger working but it did the job. Went to Morrisons in Leominster to do some shopping and decided to check out the Genie point. The good news is that it was working. The bad news is that I had to turn detective to find it tucked away, out of sight behind the shop, and although a nice new charger no contactless. There are 4 other DC chargers in Leominster making 6 different operators, and 3 of which I have never heard of. Summary: If both Instavolt chargers were off and I needed a charge I suspect I would have been a tad frustrated. Note: The the other CPO chargers (if working) might have contacless. If I spend time in Leominster I will find them and report.
My first real long journey with the ZOE. I will be gone 2 weeks and will report in a factual way what happens. I expect Gridserve to be good on the main roads, however heading into Wales could be interesting. ⚡ Sam Clarke ⚡ GRIDSERVE Zapmap Ben Kilbey Mark Stubbs
