DEI Event: Don’t Put People in Boxes: In a powerful Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) event, we embraced the theme "Don’t Put People in Boxes." It is so easy to categorize people, drawing lines and creating sides - us and them, those we feel comfortable around and those we don’t. However, this event reminded us that despite our differences, we stand together. Some of us have many chapters in our lives, while others are just beginning their stories. There are those we share something with and those we don't seem to share anything with. Yet, irrespective of all these differences, we are united as one Concord family. This event encouraged us to break down the barriers of prejudice and misunderstanding. Instead of putting people in boxes, we were inspired to understand and celebrate our differences. It was a heartfelt reminder of the importance of inclusivity and the strength we gain from our diverse backgrounds and experiences.

BDR @ Oyster HR 🦪 | Talent & Culture | Helping companies with their global employment needs 🌎 | Work from Anywhere Advocate ✨
Yesterday was Juneteenth—a reminder of the journey toward freedom and equality. So now is a great time to think about how companies can make workplaces more diverse, equitable, and inclusive. As a first-gen Latina, DEI initiatives resonate with me on a personal level. I often hear from fellow Latinx candidates that they took the call with me because they feel seen. And it goes both ways! I love reaching out to qualified, diverse candidates and even more so, speaking with clients who already have these practices in place or are eager to learn on how to do it. So here’s why it matters: 🌱 Boosting Innovation: Diverse teams bring fresh perspectives, leading to more innovative solutions. 🌱 Attracting Top Talent: A strong DEI focus makes companies more attractive to a wider range of candidates. 🌱 Improving Engagement and Retention: When employees feel valued, they’re more engaged and likely to stay. 🌱 Better Serving Diverse Markets: Reflecting the diversity of customers helps companies understand and meet their needs better. Companies, keep learning and taking action toward a more inclusive workplace. Build environments where everyone feels important and employees will be empowered to do their best work. If you need help developing DEI initiatives, feel free to reach out - I'd love to help!
