After all the circuits and protective devices have been calculated and determined the next stage of the design can be performed. In the first instance the electrical distribution boards and other switchgear are to be positioned in dedicated electrical switchrooms, electrical risers and other areas. The designer will need to take note of the physical dimensions so electrical distribution are located with adequate space for safe operation, consideration should also be given to limited access against unauthorised use. The designer also needs to take cognisance of equipment weights particularly the likes of uninterruptible power supplies, Generators, Transformers and large switchboards, and any other equipment of significant weight, such that the structural engineer can include these within his design. With large electrical items, the electrical designer also needs to take into consideration the logistics of installing and maintaining the equipment. Next time the planning, setting out of the cables and various types of containment is to be considered.

What is an electrical diagram ? It is the visual and drawn description. also known as a wiring diagram or electrical drawing. It includes lines, and symbols in a layout that represents the electrical system of the property, usually designed by an electrical engineer. Electrical design is important because it ensures that the electrical system is safe, efficient, and meets all applicable codes and regulations. #eplan #Electricaldesign #specialmachine #Industrial #Automation #Work

The electrical design typically follows a multi-stage process. Early in my career, I was taught that there are four basic steps in the electrical design process: 1. Conceptual design stage: This first stage involves developing an overall concept and scope for the electrical design based on the project requirements. The key elements like required power, lighting, controls, and utilities are determined at a high level. 2. Preliminary design stage: In the second stage, an initial electrical design is developed, including a single-line diagram and layout for the key components. Specifications for major equipment like transformers, panels, and switchgear are outlined. The preliminary design is used to evaluate the overall feasibility and cost of the electrical system. 3. Developed design stage: The third stage involves developing the electrical design in greater detail, including the specific circuiting, sizing of components, selection of equipment, and a three-line diagram. The developed design can be used for contractor bidding and procurement of long-lead items. 4. Detailed design stage: The final stage is the detailed design, which provides the comprehensive documentation needed for installation and construction. This includes the final three-line and single-line diagrams, electrical plans, schedules, specs, and wiring details. The detailed design forms the basis for implementation of the electrical system. In summary, the conceptual, preliminary, developed, and detailed design stages represent the systematic progression from an initial concept through to a full set of electrical drawings and specifications. Following these basic steps helps ensure a complete and well-coordinated design.

After the electrical, mechanical and control design when everything is final then a project gets released to shop. Their the workers need every details of dimensions, placements, positions and ratings of every part with drawings . That document is called package. All these steps need almost 5-6 months to be completed and finally goes on shop. This was the first project I worked on. I made the package documents and it is my pleasure that it got on floor. This transformer has passed all the tests and already has been shipped to customer destination. #Transformer_Engineer #First_Project
