🌍 The Future of Data Centers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia: A Regional Powerhouse The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (#KSA) and the United Arab Emirates (#UAE) are at the forefront of the Middle Eastern #datacenter market, boasting a combined total of 46 co-location facilities as of early 2024. The demand for multi-tenant data centers is skyrocketing, driven by rapid digital transformation and increasing data consumption across the region. This surge is paving the way for modular construction solutions, which are proving to be highly effective in meeting the region's escalating requirements. From an investment standpoint, KSA is emerging as a key destination, with 22 active co-location facilities and more than 40 under construction. Riyadh, Jeddah, KAEC, and Dammam are becoming focal points for data center development, attracting major global and regional players such as e& UAE, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Oracle, Google and Microsoft. Looking ahead, the Middle East's (#MEA) data center market is set to double by 2030, driven by population growth and increasing data demand. This trajectory makes the region one of the most exciting and dynamic landscapes for data center development globally. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of #Sharjah, oversaw the signing of an #MoU between the Sharjah #Communication and #Technology Authority (#SCTA), #BEEAH Group, and #Khazna Data Centre. The agreement aims to establish multiple data centers across Sharjah, including the largest Tier III facility at the Sharjah Free Zone for Communication Technologies in #Kalba. This initiative will boost Sharjah’s digital #infrastructure and digital #transformation efforts, incorporating #renewable energy to set #sustainability benchmarks. Khazna will develop the facilities, while SCTA will provide regulatory support and allocate land and #energy resources. Omantel unveils new data center in Dhofar SALALAH: Omantel, the leading telecommunications company in Oman, has announced the launch of the second-largest data center in the region, located in Salalah.
