SaveLBI.Org www.savelbi.org Please, consider joining this very good cause for the island, it's residents and it's businesses as prices are sure to escalate. But, to me, that is only the symptom to the problem. The long term environmental and sustainable impact these installation of these turbines can have to our eastern ecosystem, will be devastating because it's forever. And it is now evident that the mapping of the ocean floor did in fact confuse and thus kill ocean life. Much of this affected the local whales that migrate by LBI. Especially near 5th street. Also dolphins and other ocean life was affected. In Spring Lake, NJ a rare Beaked Whale washed ashore. Please at least research what SaveLBI is doing and why it is important. Please see note below from group, friend and President, below: Dear supporters, The crowds may be dwindling, but our work effort to protect the Island and the ocean is not. Now that the Atlantic Shores project off Long Beach Island (LBI) has been federally approved we are intensely engaged in lawsuit preparation and plan to file a series of complaints within the next two months. We have also been trying to reach persons and businesses in other parts of the State who may not realize that even if they are not directly affected by the shore impact of this project, they will be affected in their pocketbooks, particularly in their electric bills. Regarding those bills, in the past year Statewide average residential electricity rates increased by about 15 percent. This is just the beginning. The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) has guaranteed higher prices for two new offshore wind projects and is now considering a more highly subsidized price for the Atlantic Shores project. Together this will increase residential bills by another 23 percent, commercial bills by 27 percent and industrial bills by 30 percent. For the full offshore wind program, we expect these increases to almost double. In a competitive world, this is economic suicide and must be moderated. Given all the other problems with the Atlantic Shores project as described in the attached letter sent to all our State and federal representatives, the obvious smart thing for the BPU to do is to not approve the Atlantic Shores project. We urge you to send that message to the BPU, and to our elected representatives more inland and north of LBI. We continue to raise funds to support our legal effort regarding this project though our website, www.savelbi.org. In that regard, we invite you to be a sponsor or foursome for our SaveLBI Golf Classic on September 24, 2024 at the LBI National Golf & Resort, 99 Golf Road, in Little Egg Harbor. Please see the link below and contact us with any questions. https://lnkd.in/eNjt8NxU We hope to see you there and appreciate all you do for the cause! Bob Stern, President Save LBI

Today we launched the "Detector for Life" campaign, through which E.ON and Delgaz Grid are donating 10,000 smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, which will be installed free of charge in the homes of Romanians with the help of our partners from The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) and The Department for Emergency Situations (DSU), with whom we have been running national campaigns and sending safety messages for 12 years. Why did we focus on the importance of installing detectors? Because last year, in Romania, there were more than 6,600 house fires, in which more than 280 people lost their lives and hundreds more were injured. Prevention is extremely important, and I believe that a detector, which doesn't cost much but signals the occurrence of an incident, can save lives! We want Romanians to install such detectors in their own homes, which often can make the difference between life and death. Thanks to our friends at IGSU and DSU, to the journalists who share our safety messages, to the colleagues involved, and to the Romanians who understand the importance of respecting a few simple and clear rules when using energy sources! #SafetyFirst #RomaniaSigura

https://lnkd.in/e_XciH3r HM Revenue & Customs has confirmed that, in the update to the VAT Notice for Energy Saving Materials, the reference to “radiators” in examples 2 and 3 is illustrative and is not designed to exclude other types of emitter, such as under floor heating. This makes clear that all new full central heating systems (regardless of emitter type) with an air, ground or water source heat pump instead of a conventional boiler, would be a single zero-rated supply because the principal elements are zero-rated. The Heat Pump Federation is delighted that constructive negotiations with HM Revenue & Customs has resulted in this level of clarification.

Among all the backlash and negative sentiment around carbon dioxide pipelines in the U.S. Midwest, Tallgrass Energy’s subsidiary, Trailblazer Pipeline Company (Trailblazer), stands above its CO2 pipeline cohort in achieving positive public approval in its recent agreement with Bold Alliance. Tallgrass announced earlier last week that it has developed a Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) with Bold Alliance in regards to its Trailblazer CO2 pipeline conversion project, which has received endorsements from 11 statewide organizations in Nebraska. As part of the agreement, Tallgrass has pledged $1.1 million dollars, with $500,000 in donations to non-profit organizations, $600,000 in training and an on-going commitment to equipping first responders to respond to emergency CO2 events as well as yearly public safety notifications to residents near the pipeline ROW. In addition, Tallgrass introduced a unique landowner payment structure which allows landowners to receive yearly royalties based on the length of pipeline on their land as well as the flowrate of the CO2 through the pipeline in any given year. Tallgrass has also agreed to return easements to landowners upon decommissioning of the line which gives the landowners the power to remove the pipeline from the property if desired. This agreement between Tallgrass and Bold Alliance is a major breakthrough in the public perception of CO2 pipeline projects and should be used by future developers as a benchmark for how to handle community engagement early on in its planning process.

MethaneSAT: Free, Public Data to Fight Climate Change MethaneSAT, a new initiative designed to track methane emissions. As you know, methane is a potent greenhouse gas, and tackling its release is crucial for combating climate change. Here's where MethaneSAT comes in: - This satellite will track methane emissions specifically from oil and gas production. - The collected data will be freely available to everyone - companies, governments, and the public. - This transparency allows all parties to identify and ultimately reduce methane emissions. - This is a significant development in monitoring and addressing a potent greenhouse gas. #methane #climateaction #satellites #MethaneSAT #sustainability P.S.
