From sustainabilityatda: The Eco-Hope project, initiated by Dr. Amy Mui and supported by an incredible team of professors from the Department of Earth and Environmental Science, College of Sustainability and the School for Resource and Environmental Studies at Dalhousie University, is all about fostering hope and resilience in the face of climate anxiety and eco-grief. Through their work, they are aiming to understand how climate stress affects students and explore ways to improve courses, programs, and campus life. From conducting surveys to creating green spaces on campus, like their October planting activity behind the LSC, they are committed to turning action into hope. The project aims to change the narrative and empower others to take positive steps for the future! 🌱💚 Photo Credit: Dr. Amy Mui #EcoHope #ClimateAction #ClimateAnxiety #EcoGrief #Sustainability #GreenSpaces

Our environment is a complex ecosystem, with most sectors under increasing pressure to reduce their environmental impact and help preserve the world around us. We’re calling all Australia & New Zealand Si Network members to share your greatest (regional) environmental challenge; – What is it in your world, or your work that needs innovating? – Is it reducing carbon emissions, reducing waste, or something wickeder? – Do you have an environmental innovation underway that you’d like to test with a group of passionate practitioners? – Have you seen a poignant discussion (article) in our region that you think needs attention? Our third and final Spring Series event in November seeks to explore how we might address a real-life environmental problem. We’d welcome all expressions of interest where we might explore yours, or one you're close to. Either jot a few thoughts, or link, in the comments below – or drop Kate or any of the Au/NZ Si Hub core team your thinking. #AuNZ #ComplexityScience #EcoSystemsBuilding #Ethnography #EventPlanning #HCD #HumanCentredDesign #Mapping #SystemsInnovation #SiHub #SystemsEnquiry #SystemsThinking #TransitionDesign #Sustainability #SystemsModelling #SystemsTheory #SystemsLeadership #ValueEntrepreneurship #ValueNetworks #WickedProblems #Regeneration #RegenerativeSystems #RegenerativeInnovation #Environment #ClimateChange #ParisAgreement #SDG #Sustainability #Circularity

#ECO 🌏💡Successful workshops on Ecological Crises & Organization!💡🌏 ✳️ By shaking given ideas, touching hearts, and sharing diverse perspectives, the first ECO Network seminar was a great opportunity ✳️ 🎁 I had the chance to present my new paper proposal: 📒 "Emotional Aspects of Grand Challenges: Which Ways to See Beyond?" This scoping review investigates the role of emotions in human behaviors when facing Grand Challenges (GCs), such as climate change and global socio-environmental issues. It highlights the significance and boundaries of emotions as practical resources, the influence of social norms, and structural factors to transform beyond individual responses. The review also discusses the need for authentic emotional engagement, politics, and citizen action to promote change. It emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary research, affective sustainability, and overcoming traditional limits (human-nature connectedness) for efficient actions. 🌀 The ECO network goals stand as: 1. Deepen knowledge about the organizational aspects of ecological crises. 2. Support practice and policy-making for necessary change. 3. Collaborate with environmentally engaged practices and strengthen our focus on ecological crises. 4. Develop teaching materials that challenge the status quo and create eco-conscious learning spaces. 5. Build a robust and inclusive community to transform our institutions and address ecological crises. 🤩 I am grateful for the dedication and enthusiasm of everyone involved 🙏 Let's continue to work together and build on the momentum we've created! 🌱 #EcologicalCrises #Organization #Collaboration #Sustainability #Change
