As a health care organization, do you often feel the need to hire planned giving professionals who have proven themselves in the field of philanthropy and have extensive experience and technical knowledge around the tax advantages of planned giving? These types of professionals often require a higher salary level than what many organizations are able to offer, and finding the perfect planned giving professional can take a significant amount of time—over a year in some cases. So, do you really need to hire a planned giving professional from outside your organization in order to begin, keep afloat or bolster a planned giving program? If not, what qualities and attributes should be the impetus of what really makes a planned giving professional successful? Learn what Accordant's James Gold has to say in response to these questions in this Asking Accordant piece: https://ow.ly/gG3F50SBnE3 #healthcare #philanthropy #plannedgiving #AskingAccordant

We are excited to share with you our first-ever Impact Report, summarizing the work of the Design Workshop Foundation since its relaunch in 2021. The last two years have been transformative, with new leadership, new projects, and new partnerships. In 2022, the Design Workshop Dr. Charles Fountain interns worked with the Green Dot Coalition to complete the Greening Five Points design assistance project in Denver, Colorado. Their work has catalyzed lasting partnerships with the Green Dot Coalition to carry the project into 2024. Additional fundraising, advocacy, and on-the-ground volunteering has started to make the Greening Five Points ideas a reality. In June of 2023, we announced the first partners selected for our inaugural Community Capacity Building Initiative. Kinston Teens, Inc. in Kinston, North Carolina and The Northeast Houston Redevelopment Council in Houston, Texas, have already begun critical work in their communities as a part of this initiative. Our partners are advocates for equity, sustainability, and community building in under-resourced communities, and we are honored to work alongside them. This summer also marked our second design assistance project with the 2023 Design Workshop Dr. Charles Fountain Interns. We partnered with Hive House and Vitality Center in Lewiston Woodville, North Carolina. Their project, The Hive Park, will be the first public park in this community, providing a valuable gathering space for residents that supports healthy living and sustainability. In addition to these major project milestones, we have also made strides in building our Board of Trustees, fundraising, and communications. To read more about these projects and initiatives in the full Impact Report, click the link below! https://lnkd.in/gZxh4YeP #dwfoundation #impact #collaboration #change
