In early 2022, Azhar Ali, a humble farmer from Magua Bilar Pathar in Assam, hoped for a brighter future when he received a solar power unit from the government. Just three months later, his dreams shattered as the controller box cracked and the system failed. With no help in sight, Ali desperately connected the solar panel directly to the battery. But there was a risk involved. Risk of overcharging and losing power at night. Despite promises of free repairs from manufacturers and vendors, Ali was left to fend for himself, spending his meager savings to fix faulty equipment. Similar was the plight of 300+ students of a Madarssa who got promises of solar power that went out soon and never showed up in 3 long years. This is the heart-wrenching reality for many in Assam's off-grid regions, where a promise of light turned into a struggle against darkness. Reason? Faulty equipment and lack of accountability. So what went wrong? And how can we right a wrong? Let's find out! #SolarSolutions | #OffGridGenerators | #PowerCrisis | #RenewableEnergy | #SolarPower | #OffGridSolutions | #SustainableEnergy | #InnovativeTechnology | #24x7Power | #ASESolutions

Acting beyond " Discom walo ki galti he " " consumer ki galti he" ! Appreciating Centre for Energy, Environment & People (CEEP) 's Efforts in Resolving Consumer Issues in Rajasthan Dear LinkedIn community, I would like to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for the dedicated efforts of CEEP in addressing the on-ground challenges faced by consumers and the Department of Electricity in Rajasthan. CEEP has been diligently working to shed light on issues that are often overlooked or swept under the rug. Their commitment to understanding and resolving these issues is commendable. Specifically, I want to highlight the remarkable work of the entire team in the Chandan Subdivision of Jaipsalmer Circle under Jodhpur Discom. 👏 In a refreshing departure from the blame game, CEEP facilitated a platform where both consumers and the discom could express their concerns openly and constructively. This approach aimed at finding solutions rather than assigning fault is truly praiseworthy. The issues faced by the consumers in the Chandan Subdivision are multifaceted. From inadequate infrastructure to the unique requirements of rural consumers, and the strain on existing feeder infrastructure, this area faces challenges that demand attention. It was really motivating to see how both sides accepted their weak points and expectations. Discoms are doing their best to support their consumers, however their efforts also face multifaceted challenges. The calm and respectful manner in which these issues were brought to light speaks volumes about CEEP's commitment to positive change. Let us continue to support organizations like CEEP that work tirelessly to improve the lives of consumers and create a more sustainable and equitable energy ecosystem. Together, we can make a difference! 💡 kudos to Simran Grover for leading the change. You definitely are an influential leader. Shweta Kulkarni from Prayas (Energy Group), Pune really added so much value to the discussion. #CEEP #Consumer #Rajasthan #Electricity #PositiveChange #power #discom #rural #electrification

Some concerning statements from "𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗷𝘄𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗺 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝗷𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗮𝗷𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻” Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (RRVUNL) is involved in generating power through its power plants, however performance of its thermal power plants was not satisfactory as they not only exceeded the laid down Station Heat Rate (SHR) but also operated on the low Plant Load Factor (PLF) during 2015-21. Thus, the inefficiencies of RRVUNL and resultant high cost of power generation, placed a burden on the DISCOMs, as they committed to purchase the power generated by RRVUNL. Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RUVNL) was incorporated in December 2015 to streamline and bring together all the processes related to power purchases including Power Purchase (PPA) management, power trading and to focus on power purchase efficiencies. However, RUVNL could not be made operational as planned because it was set up without considering the necessary operational modalities. As a result, the purpose of its incorporation was defeated. Opening of 50th SIPCOT Industrial Park 🏭: ⏩️What is SIPCOT Industrial Park? SIPCOT Industrial Parks are specialized zones developed by the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) to foster industrial growth. These parks offer ready-to-use industrial plots equipped with essential infrastructure such as roads, water supply, power distribution, and waste management facilities. Companies can establish their factories or businesses within these parks, benefiting from the pre-built infrastructure and, in some cases, additional incentives, which attract investments and create jobs in Tamil Nadu. The first SIPCOT Industrial Park was set up in 1972s by then Chief Minister Shri Kalaignar Karunanidhi. ⏩️A Success Story🎊: After 5 decades since the establishment of the first SIPCOT industrial park, Tamil Nadu’s current Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin, laid the foundation stone on 28th September 2024, for a #TataMotors manufacturing plant at the SIPCOT complex in Panappakkam (Ranipet district). This event marks the commencement of Tamil Nadu’s #50th SIPCOT industrial park. SIPCOT industrial parks have played a significant role in transforming Tamil Nadu into one of India’s most industrialized states. Today, SIPCOT Industrial Parks house over 3,200 industrial units with a cumulative investment of approximately Rs. 1.83 lakh crore, generating 8.15 lakh employment opportunities across the state. Odanthurai Gram Panchayat, Karamadai, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, has set an example for villages in India for their respective journeys for attaining self sufficiency. Many notable efforts have been made to create a clean and green environment by the villagers. The Gram Panchayat (GP) holds the distinction of being the first local body in Tamil Nadu to own a windmill. The windmill was installed using their own savings and a bank loan. The windmill generates approximately 6.00 Lakhs units of electricity per year, which is under the TANGEDCO (State Electricity Board). This initiative not only promotes renewable energy but also generates significant revenue. The Gram Panchayat earns more than Rs. 16 Lakhs per year from the sale of electricity. These sustainable practices contribute to a cleaner environment while simultaneously boosting the financial resources of the village.
