The market is undeniably difficult, especially in a local market like Hong Kong, where costs are higher compared to other cities or countries. The challenge for whoever is trying to hire, is figuring out how to achieve our goals with a limited budget. Therefore we are offering #borderless hiring - where companies can hire individuals or teams without needing a legal entity anywhere in SEA. This approach is gaining popularity as an effective solution. Recently, some of my tech clients have expressed interest in hiring #softwareengineers remotely. We provide a comprehensive sourcing and employment solution, serving as a one-stop shop for their needs. Take a look at the attached pictures to see the job openings available, there are multiple headcounts for the two roles listed. If you are based in Malaysia, dm me to find out more about these hiring. If you are based in Hong Kong and wanting to find out what's talent pool like across SEA. Feel free to drop me a text, happy to go through some of the insights and info.

With frequent #layoffs, even in historically stable regions like the #EU, professionals need a #proactive approach to maintain their relevance. The #modern workplace expects us to be agile, constantly #learning, and #adapting to the #evolving industry demands. The suggestion to periodically review job descriptions and requirements is spot-on, as it allows individuals to identify #skill gaps early and actively work on closing them. Taking advantage of company-sponsored #training and #certification programs can be a #game-changer, but it’s also essential to build and maintain #professional networks. This effort goes beyond #LinkedIn connections or occasional messages; it requires #genuine engagement, consistent #communication, and often showing up at the right events. Strong networks can open doors and offer insights into #opportunities that might not be publicly available. In today’s environment, resilience and adaptability are just as crucial as technical skills. Combining ongoing skill development with solid networks gives professionals a significant edge, allowing them to stay relevant and resilient even amid economic shifts.
How Loyal Are You? The recent news of laying off Tech companies in Malaysia, particularly American base companies is nothing new. It just gets worse. Even the EU based companies are hopping into the bandwagon. That’s scary as traditionally the EU companies, particularly the German base rarely laying off their employees. So, what do you have to do to stay resilient and relevant? In the old days, one can survive by being loyal to one company and doing the same job until s/he retires. Today, that strategy doesn’t work anymore. Instead, you are expected to be ahead of your game, by continuously upgrading your skills and knowledge either for the current position or several positions to come. Else, you will be the “victim” of the MSS, VSS or layoff. The best approach is to keep reviewing the job description and requirements (JD) periodically to see if you’re still relevant. That includes the position within your current companies or other companies within the same or similar industries. Pay extra attention to the gap and start working towards closing the gap. If the current company is offering sponsorship to pursue the trainings and certifications, make time to take advantage of the offer. While you’re focusing on upgrading your skills and knowledge, don’t forget to develop and grow your networks especially with those who can influence the hiring process in the companies. It’s not going to be enough, just by making the 1st connection and coming back years latter to ask for recommendations and referrals. It won’t work right after the 1st virtual encounter either. Building strong networks takes time and resources. Be sure to invest that resources to make it work for you. #careeradvice

Clarity matters. Job seekers deserve transparency, and recruiters have the responsibility—and capacity—to provide it. A well-written job ad isn’t just a courtesy; it’s essential for attracting the right candidates and creating an efficient hiring process. Here’s what every job post should always include: 📍 Work Location: Be clear (e.g., Tanjong Pagar, Singapore). For remote roles, still specify the base location. 🕐 Work arrangement: Onsite, hybrid, or remote? Candidates need to know. 📄 Employment type: Permanent, contract, or temporary—include contract lengths for the latter. 💰 Salary range: Transparency builds trust and sets expectations. 📊 Job level: Entry, mid-level, or senior—be specific. 🎁 Benefits: Highlight the full package—bonuses, annual leave, medical coverage, flexible work options, learning opportunities, and more. Transparency isn’t just helpful—it’s necessary. Details like these empower job seekers to make informed decisions while streamlining the hiring process. A comprehensive, transparent job post reflects an organization’s commitment to efficiency and fairness. Let’s raise the bar and leverage platforms like LinkedIn to fill in all these details. A better hiring process starts with us. 🙌 #transparency #recruitment #talentacquisition

I’m back in Tokyo, and the market feels great! 🔥 Clients are hiring 💼, and candidates are actively exploring new opportunities 🌟. It’s a good change compared to the slow start we saw at the beginning of last year. Recruiters, if you’re curious about the market or want to hear about current opportunities, let’s arrange a call 📞 or grab a coffee ☕. And remember, meeting with me doesn’t mean you have to be an immediate mover—sometimes it’s just good to explore your options! 🤝 P.S. A candidate told me my bike ages me 20 years—do you agree? 🚲😂 #TokyoRecruitment #HiringOpportunities #RecruitmentMarket #RecruitersInJapan #rec2rec #rec2rectokyo #jobmarket

✨ Any Singapore teams keen to hire top Indonesian tech talent? Indonesian tech companies are laying off seemingly every week. I’ve combed over countless Excel spreadsheets of hundreds of affected workers. And I’ve just been tipped off that there are many more on the way. There is now clearly an oversupply tech talent in Indonesia. 💔 It saddens me deeply, knowing that there are brilliant folks out of work, who are simply looking for a means to provide for themselves and their families with integrity and purpose. But not all hope is lost. Looking regionally, what I know for sure is that Singapore continues to thrive as a major tech hub 🚀. As a result, there is growing demand in Singapore for top tech talent. This presents a unique opportunity for Singaporean companies to tap into the rich talent pool emerging from Indonesia. So, this is my personal effort in bridging the gap. 📣 Are there any Singapore teams out there hiring product, engineering and data talent? I’ll personally recommend the best, pre-screened profiles within my network - 100% free of charge, no strings attached. I’ll keep your search confidential and will not share your hiring requirements publicly. Just comment “Interested” or feel free to DM me directly to let me know who you’re looking for 💬. Here is to a brighter tomorrow for all. #hiring #singapore #indonesia #engineering #product
