Here's how Duolingo gets people addicted to learning

Rightly said! People tend to attract towards entertainment more than learning. That's why most of the educational apps does not perform well financially compared to entertainment apps like tik tok, instagram etc. But still developers of educational or learning apps comes with more creative ideas to make people engage more. Instead of just ppt slides/text based content which many learning / educational apps use, they would come up with animated avatar content where the app talks with the user just like normal humans does. This way the percentage of engagement may increase.

Finding solutions and engaging others eat the broccoli. Smart and intuitive idea. Use the tools you have in hand and find the way to achieve your goal, move forward and become creative and innovative.

Duolingo is a great tool to motivate people to learn. I have found that many users become good at performing on the App, but when they need to interact with real people they freeze. Why is that, I wonder. I believe you’re conditioned to the screen interface, and when a real human face appears in front of you, your brain gets confused. I would suggest to incorporate real human faces in the App’s interface. What do you think? Let me know.

Understanding user behaviour, psychology is key to design a product and it's user interface to give great user experience leading to product success. Gamification should also be weaved into the design as well.

This is a video on how Duolingo is building online courses that can basically compete with social media and uses that technique to teach people a new language. It shows a great understanding of how a large percentage of people spend their time and utilizes that knowledge to help build useful skills (effectively and affordably). So why don't we use these same methods to build courses to teach current and future mining professionals new skills? We complain that we can not attract enough people into our industry, but we continue to use the same methods of education as we always have. Isn't it time to step back and evaluate how to effectively utilize the tools that people spend their time on anyway? And since the industry needs new skills (think of community engagement, environmental stewardship, artificial intelligence), we can build a range of new skills training topics that more people would be interested in and the industry will benefit from.
