Hilirisasi is the same as sustainable. Disclaimer in my opinion. Hilirisasi is the most frequently mentioned word in the Indonesian election issue. We as producers, distributors, and consumers. Now the hilirisasi in question is not only a process system. Collaboration is becoming more accepted today. In essence, all parties can be invited to cooperate and get their own benefits in any form. I help my parents take care of the homestay and am currently also part of the #TurKeDesa Go4Tour tour package. One of the results of the collaboration of my two roles is a Walking Tour. Farmers in the village who used to plant and harvest, now we can observe the process. There is additional income for farmers before harvesting. As well as other communities around us, hopefully our collaboration can be useful. That's Hilirisasi for me. From collaboration become an experience for tourists who stay and join #TurKeDesa. #hilirisasi #umkm #socialwelfare #socialdevelopment #developmentcommunity #village #governmentissue #publicpolicy #wonderfulindonesia #sustainable

𝑺𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑭𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒍 𝒊𝒏 𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒂. It was not very long ago that celebrations of the Spring Festival, or Imlek as it is known in Indonesia, was strictly forbidden. President Gus Dur lifted the ban on Lunar New Year festivities in 2000, and President Megawati made it an official national holiday after two years. And nowhere else are the Spring Festival celebrations more visible and audible in Indonesia than those in Chinatown of Jakarta in Glodok. This unsightly city corner was where many of Indonesia’s largest conglomerates and listed companies first established their businesses. Glodok was built by the Dutch East Indies Company (VOC) in the 17th century. The peculiar name originated from ‘grojok grojok’, the sound of water that dripped from the waterspout at the city hall, a popular watering hole for horses. The refurbished old City Hall (Staduis) building, a historical legacy of the Netherlands, in Jakarta Kota Tua (old town), has become the Jakarta History Museum now. Today, Glodok has become more crowded with people, buildings and traffic, and is still one of the largest trading centres for electronic and consumer goods. We visited Glodok, and was surprised that many roads have been closed and diverted, caused by the never-ending construction activities on the underground Mass Rapid Transit rail lines, and stations. The project is only about 40% done and may take several more years to complete. Even without adequate road transportation access, it did not deter the untiring crowds of people who trudged across the huge construction mess to this chaotic yet delightful charm of Glodok.

Helpt organisaties aan meer betrokkenheid. Spreekt over engagement, verandervaardigheid en "wij cultuur". Auteur van Everyone is a mentor.
I am thrilled to be working with the founders of Kaya Kaya. We share a passion for engagement and fostering talents, especially when it comes to empowering the less privileged in our society. I’m helping that to create strategies and structures that unlock the full potential of human beings. In my opinion, Kaya Kaya is a purpose-driven and resourceful organizations. Kaya Kaya Festival is not just an event; it’s a movement that revitalizes the Ser’i Otrobanda neighborhood through art, music, and community spirit. This vibrant cultural festival transforms the streets into a colorful canvas, promoting local artists and fostering unity. By enhancing the physical environment, boosting local businesses, and strengthening social cohesion, Kaya Kaya is building a brighter future for Otrobanda. It’s amazing to see how innovation and community engagement can lead to such profound positive change. As a strategic consultant, I am focused on helping the Kaya Kaya team learn faster and grow the festival and movement in a healthy way. It’s essential that the people working at Kaya Kaya grow not only as professionals but also as individuals. Ideally, we want people to grow faster than the organization itself, ensuring a sustainable and impactful future. We are working together in three phases: first with the founders, then their team, and finally, the community. This phased approach ensures that growth is deeply rooted and sustainable across all levels. Join us in celebrating and supporting this transformative journey. #KayaKaya #CommunityBuilding #StrategicConsulting #Innovation #Art #Culture #Unity #Curaçao #Otrobanda

How well do we really know our city?! While loving where we live is not necessarily the make-or-break criteria in the era of globalisation 4.0, it certainly makes it easier. After a quarter of a lifetime of living and traveling across different cities, I've come to understand that our surroundings plays a crucial role in our happiness and overall well-being. Recently, with the start of a photography class, I've decided to embark on a personal journey to rediscover my love for a place that has shaped so much of who I am: Hanoi. For many of us, it's easy to overlook the beauty, culture, and vibrancy of the cities we inhabit, especially when we get lost in the routine of daily life. The charm of our city can often fade into the background as we navigate the demands of work, family, and the hustle of everyday responsibilities. Or maybe it’s because we are temporarily assigned to a post in a new country, where we may risk becoming mere visitors in our lives, always looking towards the next posting (most of my life into adulthood, but that’s a story for another day). In this series of posts, I aim to explore how loving where you live can lead to a profound sense of balance and harmony in life. I believe that by reconnecting with our local surroundings, we can enrich our personal and professional lives in unexpected ways. I plan to share my thoughts on the hidden gems of Hanoi, from the perspective of a “part-time tourist” who has developed a particular taste to life here (i.e. not what you would typically find in travel books). More importantly, I will reflect on how these elements contribute to my sense of community and belonging. I will also share tips I have learned from professionals in diverse fields or from experience on how to make working in Hanoi easier for newcomers. Hopefully my photography skills will improve too! As I delve deeper into the heart of this city, I hope to inspire others to rekindle their love for the places they call home, no matter how long they've lived there. Picture: most people would expect a more bustling scenery, maybe more motorbikes. But this is Hanoi for me, full of surprises as you turn the next corner down a random alley. #lovewhereyoulive #hanoi

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚. 25 cm. This is how much Jakarta is sinking every year. The Indonesian capital has shown outstanding growth, going from less than a million in 1945 to more than 10 million today (and even more than 30 million for the urban area). To meet the needs of the large population, water has been massively extracted from the phreatic tables beneath the city, causing Jakarta to sink under the weight of its buildings. So much that part of the city is now below sea level (https://lnkd.in/egpfJ3c9). In 2019 came a drastic decision: moving the capital of the country to a safer place. The new location for this new capital: an inhabited site in the middle of the jungle on Borneo Island, 1500 km away from Jakarta. The name of this new city? Nusantara, which means “archipelago” in Javanese. Like other cities that emerged from nowhere, Nusantara exemplifies the concept of a 'planned city' marvelously well (https://lnkd.in/eKaCPY3g). Construction works started in 2022 and are expected to be finished by 2045. To welcome the expected 5 million inhabitants, almost all the surface to erect the new city is converted from forest. Many criticize this decision, citing the disastrous ecological impact of such a project, while hardly any public consultations or environmental impact research studies were carried out. Be that as it may, Indonesia did not wait long to make Nusantara its new capital. The transfer was official as early as 17th August 2024 to host the 79th Indonesia Independence anniversary ceremony. So if you haven't already, update your maps—Indonesia has just gotten a brand-new capital city! 📸 Photo credits: NASA. Photo taken in February 2024.
