Maintenance Engineering Manager l Engineering and Tech Marketing Expert | Fluent in Engineering Products
What’s the difference between a maintenance engineer and maintenance technician? A maintenance engineer is a leader inside an organization that delegates routine maintenance tasks to maintenance technicians. They focus more on strategy and ways to make assets more reliable. In this way, they are similar to reliability engineers. Hands-on work is reserved for installations, major repairs, and diagnostics with the PLC. A maintenance engineer that has multiple technicians on their team is also responsible for working with maintenance planners to make sure technicians have everything they need to execute work orders. Here, the engineer is responsible for handling logistics and the technician is responsible for performing the work. #hiring

At Fast Energy, we take pride in our team of highly qualified technicians. Each technician is a qualified electrician trained to either Level 1 or Level 2 Thermography certification at the University of Melbourne. Thermal Imaging, also known as Thermography, is a crucial tool in every commercial and industrial preventative maintenance plan. It allows us to produce images from invisible thermal radiation, identifying electrical components operating above their correct temperature. By detecting problems early, we can document and correct them before they escalate into more serious and costly issues. With Thermal Imaging cameras, our electricians can scan entire motors, components, or panels at once, never missing any overheating hazards. This real-time feedback enables them to make on-the-spot decisions to keep your machinery working smoothly and eliminate failures that would otherwise go unnoticed. Trust Fast Energy for proactive maintenance and reliable solutions! #ThermalImaging #PreventativeMaintenance #QualifiedTechnicians #FastEnergy #ProactiveSolutions

Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician || SMRP Member || Power systems Engineer || Certified Forklift Operator
MY MACHINES ARE SPEAKING, DO I UNDERSTAND THEIR LANGUAGE? It is important to know when your machines are speaking to you as a technician or an operator. Before your machines eventually break down, they have been speaking in different languages but your inability to understand them makes their communication ineffective. Aside from undergoing your structured maintenance plan, it's a good practice to adopt the following: 🔺As an Operator or Technician, it's good to train your visual and sensory organs tuned with the machines operation. Know the sound of your machines when operating under normal conditions. Know when you have the perception of a worrisome smell. It's your machine, you should understand it better. 🔺What do you do with your readings? It's advisable to do analysis of your data at regular intervals. The measurements provided by your metering devices is telling you something. Your machines are communicating through them. The electrical and mechanical measurements are telling you about the status of your machine. It's a good practice to be conversant with the acceptable range, and know when your equipment are deviating from them. Operators and technicians, Decode. 🔺The operation of your protection systems are actually communicating something. Tripping of breakers, fault relays, and other SSDs are not for fun. Don't just go ahead and reset all the time, without understanding why they operated. Don't just assume it's transient everytime. Don't say the system is obsolete and that's why you're getting the tripping. Verify the language and ensure you're responding in line with your machine. Imminent/potential failures actually lead to functional failures. No equipment breaks down without prior signal(s), but inability to decode them was the major issue that worsen the condition. I'm open to learn more from various expertise as contributions and corrections are highly welcomed. #reliabilityengineering #maintenanceengineering #troubleshooting #diagnostics #analysis

* Calibration of Control Valves Calibration of control valves is a process of accurately setting the valve’s opening and closing points to achieve the desired flow rate. This is done through adjusting the actuator position, trim, and other valve parameters according to the manufacturer's specifications. **The #calibration process should be completed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. It also helps in maximizing the efficiency of the control system and ensures optimal performance of the valve. * To begin the calibration process, a #technician should first measure the flow rate of the valve at various actuator positions. * Then the technician should adjust the actuator position and the trim to achieve the desired #flow rate. *Finally, the technician should check the valve’s performance at the end of the calibration process. Remember, By performing periodic calibration, #control valve performance can be maintained at optimal levels and accuracy can be improved. ** See below 👇💥👇 the procedures of how to calibrate the control valve. #instrumentation #automation #plc #pneumatic #electronic #systems #process #instruments #controlvalves #industrialautomation #engineering #instrumentationandcontrol #sensors #processcontrol #industrialprocess #processautomation #measurements #controlsystems #calibration #processinstrumentation

Cleaning and covering instruments with plastics and Denso tape may seem to be a dirty and less technical exercise, but it's one of the duties and responsibilities of a field Instrumentation Technician. Below are some of the benefits and what can be achieved. 1. Enhance Equipment Longevity #ProtectionFromCorrosionAndWear: Regular cleaning removes corrosive substances, while plastic covers shield instruments from harsh environmental conditions, thereby extending their lifespan. #MinimizeMaintenance: Clean and covered instruments are less likely to require frequent repairs, reducing downtime and maintenance costs. 2. Ensure Accurate #MeasurementsPrecision: Clean instruments provide accurate readings essential for process control and optimization. Dirt and contaminants can skew sensor readings, leading to process inefficiencies or failures. #Reliability: Consistent cleaning and covering help maintain the reliability of measurements, ensuring that the plant operates within specified parameters. 3. Operational Efficiency #SmoothOperation: Well-maintained instruments function better, contributing to the smooth operation of the plant. Reduced likelihood of breakdowns means fewer interruptions in the process. #CostSavings: Preventive maintenance through cleaning and covering reduces the need for costly repairs and replacements. By maintaining cleanliness and covering instruments with plastics, process plants can ensure operational efficiency, safety, regulatory compliance, and overall equipment reliability.
