In full transparency, when I first saw the bus, I told my MaaPaa Community, ‘That’s not our bus, don’t get too excited. Ours is probably on the other side of the building.’ As a nonprofit, I’m accustomed to seeing school buses, the short ones, or even the ones with just three wheels. But I have to give a huge shout-out to DOPE for showing our children that they deserve beautiful transportation. This experience will create lasting memories and highlights the incredible work that DOPE does and the importance of strong partnerships. We’re ambitious and determined to break the cycle of homelessness. We know this can only be done by working in partnership with others. But we must act. There is no better way to commence the weekend than by engaging in community service alongside family. FEEDING THE POOR ; A SIMPLE ACT OF KINDNESS When we go about our daily lives, it's easy to overlook the struggles of those around us. But for millions of people, hunger is a harsh reality, especially in some part of the world. That's why feeding the poor is such a vital act of kindness. By providing food for those in need, we do not only satisfy their physical hunger but also offer hope and dignity to them. A warm meal can be a beacon of light in dark times, reminding them that they are seen, heard, loved and most importantly not alone. You can also make a little difference in your local community by engaging in: - Volunteering at a local soup food bank. - Donating non-perishable items or funds to support food programs. - Offering to cook or deliver meals for those in need.
