Friday was bitter sweet since it was my last day with SMX. Now I am taking a week off to spend time in #prayer, #reflection, and #preparation before beginning my next adventure ~ more to follow soon! As I reflect on #SMX, here are my top three highlights (among many): 🔹 People First! This remains true in the corporate environment. I will miss my team and am grateful for their trust and confidence in me. 🔹 Teachable Always! I knew more than I realized about some things and absolutely nothing about others. I attempted to remain teachable which allowed me to learn something new every single day. That was priceless since I had no commercial sector experience. However, I didn't dismiss the years of experience I have in leadership, information technology, defense, or the strength of my soft skills and personal relationships across U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. This required a lot of self-awareness and check-ins with my team and mentors to maintain a healthy balance. 🔹 Values Matter! My personal values were reinforced while others emerged. I didn't value flexibility during transition because I didn't know what was possible. Now that I have experienced it, it's essential. It proved to me that while some values (e.g., faith, family, wellness, people, and purpose) may never change, others evolve with new experiences. I have a lot more to be #grateful for although above all, it always comes back to the #relationships ❤️ Photo Credit: This is a small representation of the SMX team since most of the team is remote.
