    When you spend all your time behind your desk it's impossible to be a good business leader. There's only so much you can learn from the confines of your office. It's a big world out there, and when leaders insulate themselves from it they stop learning. That turns them into stale, stubborn and frankly irrelevant people who are doing a huge disservice to themselves, their companies and their customers. So given the option of staying behind my desk VS getting out there, I'll always pick the latter. Try to spend at least 50% of your time - Getting out there in the marketplace, - Talking to customers, - Building relationships, - Staying active, - And attending industry conferences, - Leadership summits, - And new skills building workshops. Because that's the only way you are going to stay relevant today.
