Halfway Through the UK Tech Accelerator: Halftime Party 🎉 Last week, our UK Accelerator teams had the opportunity to join a special status call to celebrate an important milestone – reaching the halfway point of the UK Accelerator program! This summit, our Halftime Party, was not only an occasion to share progress but also to discuss key questions around internationalization and gather fresh insights for the second half of the program. A special thanks goes to the co-organizers and mentors for their contributions: Baden-Württemberg International (BW_i), Germany Trade & Invest, GFT Technologies, and DORNKAMP Law Firm. 🤝 A key focus was on how to best approach German clients. It was highlighted that German companies value long-term partnerships, which require trust. This trust can be fostered through connections with reputable ecosystem partners, a strong brand, expert knowledge, and confident presentation. The teams are on the right track but need to be patient, as building these relationships takes time. 🚀 Another focus was on determining the right timing for taking the next steps in internationalization: Should you acquire initial clients in Germany before setting up an office? Are direct 1:1 meetings or participating in trade shows/events more effective for acquiring clients? The takeaway: Taking those first bold steps is essential for gaining clients and establishing contacts. Thoughtful planning is crucial, but swift execution is key. ⚖️ The complexity of the German legal system was also discussed. Is it really that complicated? The advice was clear: Only sign contracts if you fully understand them. Seeking expert assistance is a smart move and should be taken advantage of. Overall, it became evident that the teams are on a promising path. Regular feedback loops and adaptability are the key to a successful path. And the most important thing: courage pays off! A big thank you to everyone involved for their commitment and valuable insights! We look forward to the second half of the program and the milestones yet to come. 🙏🙏 OctaiPipe; BOW; Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC) #CODE_n #Community #UK #FutureIndustries

A chance to make Europe a great place for startups and innovation The EU + UK represent only 6,4% of the world's population today. It will go down to ~5% by 2050. One of our biggest problems to compete in tomorrow's world is the complex legal setup needed for companies to expand across Europe and the differences across markets. We have a unique opportunity to improve Europe's competitiveness by creating a pan-european legal entity. The new EU commissioners will start working on their agenda for the coming years on December 1st, 2024. Although the solution is known, it's just one out of hundreds for politicians. Uniting the European startup ecosystems needs to be part of this agenda: it's our job as industry to show how important it is. This is how you can help: - Sign it - Share it and get others to sign as well This initiative has already +10k supporters, and now needs you. How can we foster European innovation? By supporting Europe’s talented startup and scaleup ecosystem. 🚀 Delighted that Teneo is a partner to the Leading European Tech Scaleup map with France Digitale alongside the support of Scale Ireland. 🚀 The second edition of the Leading European Tech Scaleups (LETS) features +250 companies (up from 135 last year) that have successfully expanded out of their home markets and highlights some of the continent's most promising European scale-ups. Four incredible Irish companies are included: Fenergo, Tines, Teamwork and Wayflyer. The world is undergoing accelerated shifts, driven by AI and the urgent need for a green transition. There is no doubt these scale-ups will play a decisive role in responding to these challenges, by reflecting Europe's values, technological prowess and its innovative spirit. Thanks to Arnaud Jacques for spearheading this partnership and our wonderful colleagues in Ireland and across Europe who are involved in raising awareness for #LETS24 and the work done by their partnership associations such as Scale Ireland. One stop shop for founders, especially for those who fall through the cracks or aren't VC, angel investable. Lets welcome them all. Ireland's start-up ecosystem is strong but fractured. Too many startup organisations and accelerators prioritising their own agenda. Changing the Mindset Collaboration Over Competition: Through collaboration, we can act as One voice One message so the whole world can hear us. Please read attached post Goodbye NDRC. Hello new NDRC! https://lnkd.in/en4CB3iR Everyone is asking: What will happen with the NDRC contract? and why did Dogpatch Labs consortium lose it? https://lnkd.in/eKf4HTpM Let the NDRC government contract become an all-inclusive one-stop shop solely for founders to meet and greet the startup ecosystem under one roof?
Enterprise Ireland is scoping options for a “centralised innovation space” as part of a reformat of the state’s start-up accelerator, CEO Leo Clancy has said. His comments come as the incoming coalition signalled that it will support the NDRC and “transfer responsibility to the Department of Enterprise"

Looks like the EU Inc. initiative [1] has been successful enough to make it to a press conference with Ursula von der Leyen. Thanks to everyone who signed the petition! 🙏 I hope the EU goes further and establishes a market that is not only common, but offers a single, harmonised legal regime for entities that operate there, to allow them to function without the unnecessary friction of fragmented bureaucracy. Europe is finally waking up 🇪🇺 EU INC to take down bureaucratic barriers🔥 "We want to propose a 28th regime which says that for these innovative startups a simple and single rulebook for the whole of the European Union will give them access to a single market and the possibility to scale up." Silver lining? Well, at least a first step in the right direction. Go Europe! Follow Data-Driven VC for more content like this: https://lnkd.in/dXFzFqBh
