Northern Tool + Equipment's Tools for the Trades™ program revs up high school students’ interest in hands-on careers. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gmHwZ2Kt Kevin Baas, a teacher in the STEM Engineering and Innovation department at Lakeville North, says that his students are so pumped to work on their go-kart that he can barely take attendance before they race into the shop. “As a teacher, this is a win-win,” Baas says. “They want to work on it immediately. They are learning tools and fabrication and engineering, and they are learning real world skills that will make them successful.” Read the full article in the Summer 2024 issue of Enterprise Minnesota® magazine, available now.

🚀 **Day 1 at Matt Engineering Solutions: Hands-On Training Begins!** 🚀 Today marks the beginning of an exciting journey as I dive into hands-on training at Matt Engineering Solutions. For my first task, I was given the opportunity to create a basic form for undergraduate admissions. This experience not only helped me apply my existing knowledge but also allowed me to learn and grow in a real-world environment. Here's a quick overview of the form I created: **UG Admission Form Highlights:** - **Personal Information:** Name, Date of Birth, Contact Details - **Academic Details:** Previous Education, Grades, Certifications - **Course Selection:** Desired Course, Specialization - **Additional Information:** Extracurricular Activities, Personal Statement This task helped me understand the importance of user-friendly design and efficient data collection in the educational sector. I’m excited to continue this journey and tackle more challenges in the days to come! #Engineering #UGAdmissions #HandsOnTraining #MattEngineeringSolutions #LearningByDoing #CareerGrowth #FirstTask

Summer classes are no joke! In the past 4 weeks, I took on statics—my first “true” engineering class. The accelerated course tested my academic abilities like nothing ever had before. Summer classes tend to hit the ground running and I quickly found myself struggling, despite giving what I thought was my all. But as I dug even deeper, and with the support of my tutor, Justin Hawkins, I significantly improved my understanding and ended with a higher grade than I had initially thought possible. That class was tough, but also a valuable reminder that I can do hard things! #SummerClasses #AcademicGrowth #Engineering #HardWorkPaysOff

What's your top advice for students who are just atarting out in engineering? For me, it's reminding them that Not Knowing is ok. In a setting where you're expected to know a lot, admitting when we don't know something can be the hardest. Here's at least three things I wish I'd known as a freshman getting started in engineering. #engineering #engineeringmajor #freshmanyear Agree or disagree?
