It doesn't provide good security because, in case of a Device takeover by a fraudster, OTP will anyways land on the same device. This leads to 🔷 Friction of re-login. 🔷 Re-login results in a drop of users to the platform as the conversion is 85-95%. 🔷 It costs as OTP and processing APIs incur expenses. We can instead nudge users to add a device lock to the app whenever they try to log out. This is faster as everything happens on edge (the device), secure (biometric is more secure), and cheaper (as processing happens using on device) Logout has a different function which is more technical and related to expiring tokens.
