The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage Report on Safe Sport in Canada was recently released. What are your key takeaways from this report? Here are 3 of mine: 1. More funding is needed to pay for the development and implementation of both PREVENTATIVE measures (criminal background checks, safe sports training, policy development) and REACTIVE measures (trauma-informed complaint and disciplinary mechanisms). 2. Independent systems are needed ASAP at provincial and local level sports. 3. Athletes MUST be incorporated in all bodies and all decision-making processes regarding safe sports in Canada. (My two cents here is that these should be paid roles).

Well at 54 minutes in Englad V Spain the outcome to now is 100% what the world expected. This is a lesson on Leadership and how Southgate does the same thing expecting a different result. Doing the same thing that we have done and only scraped by is a sign of madness. Then to do this against a world class Spain team. Possession we expected 75% Spain No identity from England. No risk. No leddership from Kane, worst player on the field. He lost every aerial ball so far, no tracking, no chasing, no making runs. Rhisbis our supposed leader. we look to this level of player to lift us and he has no ideas to change a game. We're out fought, out thought, out battled, lack of heart apart from the defensive who have been great. How is this man still leading a team with such potential quality. This is a training session for Spain. I'm not surprised it ends up 3-0. Statistically when he brings on Palmer, Watkins and Toney and takes Kane off we play better. These are facts. We score, the team lifts, the crowd lifts. If this was a CEO of a company he would be gone! We have had 3 shots on goal that were meaningless. Every second ball Spain win. I am gobsmacked....... The most important game of their lives and we play defensive against the best team in the world. Wow. If by some magic we do score it will happen when these changes are made probably predictably in the 80th minute. Thoughts?

Isn’t it funny how clown baseball can sell more tickets than legit MLB baseball? The Bananas are the #HarlemGlobetrotters of baseball. So what needs to change? The game? MLB? Ticket prices or all of the above? What do you think? How can the MLB sell more tickets and improve the game? #SavanahBananas
The Savannah Bananas sold out 42,000 seats at Nationals Park in D.C. this weekend, the largest game in the team’s history 🏟️ (via Jesse Cole)

The Euros are over for another four years - are you sad or are you sighing with relief? For the winners Spain, not only is there the kudos of being crowned the best footballing country in Europe, but there’s the financial gain - a prize of EUR 10 million. Plus of course, all the bonuses and payments for each round of the competition. The winning players could earn around £200,000 each in fees and progression bonuses - not a bad pay day for playing 7 games. A big incentive to play well, right? When you have a big goal it can spur you on to find different ways to achieve your targets. But to do well, you need a coherent plan and execution strategy, just like Spain. Are you a winner? Have you defined your goals? Do you have a clear plan for your financial future?

Former Lord Mayor Graham Quirk has released the long-awaited 60-day review of the Olympic and Paralympic venues, with an initial assessment suggesting a practical and achievable approach that maximizes available space and transportation connections for a lasting legacy beyond 2032. Key proposals include reconsidering the costly $3 billion Gabba project to be squashed, constructing a new 55,000-seat stadium at Victoria Park, relocating Brisbane Live within Roma Street Parklands, and repurposing the Gabba and Boondall sites for housing and community spaces. The Queensland Government will promptly assess these recommendations to determine the way forward which is uncertain but there are lots of opportunities for infrastructure delivery to support the city for many years to come. What are your thoughts on what Brisbane should be in 2032 to support the Olympic games? #brisbane2032 #majorinfrastructure #projectdelivery #Queensland #Community #Olympicgames Article: https://lnkd.in/gFk8SJh5
