Take me out to Giant’s Stadium! Our Founder/CEO Natasha Miller and Director of Strategy Bennett Smith took to San Francisco Giants Oracle Park to learn all about the sustainability initiatives they uphold. Fun fact: Recology comes to the ballpark 4x during a game to haul away recycling, green waste and trash sorted by 40 dedicated staff throughout the entirety of the game! They use giant grass cutting Roomba-like lawn mowers that are able to turn on a dime and are controlled by a cellphone made by Husqvarna Group There’s also a beautiful edible garden 🪴 where we salivated over the plump, ripe, deep-red strawberries. 🍓 We were then treated to a secret drink that can’t be found on the menu in the Gotham Club and loved seeing their baseball ice cube for specialty 🥃 drinks. Thank you to the Society For Sustainable Events (SFSE) for planning this wonderful “field trip” which culminated with a walk to the 1Hotel for a fun social with sips and bites. #sustainableevents #eventprofs #sfgiants #williemays Julie Lindsey Jody Brandes, HMCC, CMP-Fellow, CMM Dawn Witherspoon Chad Schyvincht Elizabeth Bainbridge Susan Piel, CMP Fellow, CMM, HMCC
Love seeing organizations focus on sustainable practices like this - especially when the base of what they do is all about PLAY! Inspiring.
Fun! Personally, I LOVE behind the scenes tours of successful organizations. Really gives you an appreciation for the orchestration that goes on to create a seamless client experience.

I love a good behind the scenes tour. Esspecially when they are showcasing amazing sustainable practices like these. Did you get to try the strawberries or was it a look but dont touch situation?

1moLooks amazing. I'd be torn between enjoying the experience and trying to deconstruct every element behind it.
