Dear #recruiters, if you send me a job outside my local area, please acknowledge that it will require relocating! Moving for a job is a major life decision, so it's good to at least mention that when contacting me about a job opportunity. And I don't mean just copying the part of the job description that says, "Must be willing to commute or relocate to [location]." If you acknowledge this, then I can tell that you've taken the time to consider my résumé/profile and taken the location into account. Otherwise, I can only suspect that you're just sending the job to as many candidates as possible without any regard for what the job will require in practice. And this shouldn't be that hard to do. I have my location on my résumé, LinkedIn, Indeed, etc., and I assume you have the location of the job from the job description. If you need to, plug them into something like Google Maps to see how long it takes to get from one to the other. (Side note: Occasionally I get messages about jobs in Silicon Valley, and sometimes I wonder if those recruiters assume that being in the same state automatically makes the commute reasonable. California is pretty big, you know.) Finally, please mention the location up front. You might think this is obvious, but I've had a few recruiters contact me without mentioning the job's location. I of course had to check if it was a remote position, and each time it ended up being on site in a completely different region I couldn't commute to. That could have been over a lot quicker if you had just given me the location in the first place. (And yes, if the job is in fact remote, please mention that as well so I don't have to wonder about it.) I can only speak for myself, but this is something than can make or break my trust, and again, it shouldn't be too hard to do. #CandidateExperience

While watching the University of Florida Gators win on Saturday, I updated my spreadsheet of remote companies that are hiring now. I found 206 companies hiring for a variety of jobs. Most of these jobs are full-time and require a bachelor's degree, though there are a few companies on the list that are hiring for part-time or contract roles. This list can be sorted by industry, and I have indicated which remote companies allow work from anywhere. It's free to access, and I update the list a few times a month. I'm doing the heavy lifting of searching and vetting companies so that you can focus on your applications 😉. Comment below or send me a DM to get free access to my spreadsheet. It’s the first time I’ve seen this in 6 months of applying. I just filled out an application (Saturday, shmaturday) and it’s the first one I’ve filled out that asked me “will you relocate for this position?” Naturally I smashed YES because I’m in a position to relocate for a job and I appreciate that being something they’re asking. I feel like when a hiring team sees I’m not from the area, that my application is dismissed. #recruiters & #hiringmanagers do you pass over a great candidate if the job isn’t remote and they’re not from the area? Would you reach out asking the right candidate if they’re able to relocate? #openforwork #socialemediamarketing #creativecontent #creativeprojectmanagement

"No one is looking for work" Yes, with unemployment this high I still hear comments like this. 1) Employers everyone thinks about will get the most applications 2) Jobs in large cities will get more applications than rural markets 3) Titles people recognize will get more interest 4) Remote jobs will get significantly more applicants As a job seeker remember not all job opportunities are with massive organizations. There are lots of companies who hire with signs in the window and email applications. Don't restrict your search to remote jobs, posted online, in big cities. Explore the communities around you and you might be surprised what you can find just a short drive away. #jobseekers #jobsearch #jobsearchtips #recruitertips

Recruiter | Resumes | Talent Acquisition | Job Search Assistance | Let’s Talk About A Book or Quote That Caught Your Attention!💡
OPEN TO WORK - HOW TO SET UP ✅ Let Me Help YOU Maximize Your Reach!! 📣 1) Go to your profile and open up the "Open to Work Section" near the top. 2) Job Titles: You can use up to 5 slots. USE ALL 5. Reference the jobs postings that you are seeing for the most common / relatable titles to prioritize. If you are having trouble, reach out to me. *Make sure that you have your job descriptions filled out on your Linkedin profile after you set this up* 2.1)Location Types: Personal preference here. 3) Locations (On-site): Use COUNTIES to open up your pool of searches/job alerts that you can populate on. For my hybrid people...If you can work 1 day a week hybrid/onsite in a county that is 2 hours away, then list that county. This is ALSO helpful if you are open to relocation, list the states or cities that you are preparing to move to. Max this out with all 5 locations. 4)Locations (Remote): Remote locations should be opened up the most. List the ENTIRE STATE as this is a major qualifier on most remote postings. You get 5 locations to list as well (your state plus the 4 other counties) 5) Visibility I recommend using the "recruiters only" option and keeping that on. The green banner helps you to spread the word about your work situation, BUT IT IS PUBLICLY VISIBLE. Keep that in mind if you are trying to be subtle about your job search. **If you end up having too many reach outs for locations that you yourself are immediately disqualifying/ignoring, then adjust.** ♻Repost♻ 👨💼 👩💼 Let's CONNECT 🤗 COMMENT the job titles that you are looking for and my network can reach out! 🤝 TAG who might need to hear this. ✉ MESSAGE me if you need more clarification! ♻REPOST!♻ #jobsearch #jobsearchtips #layoffs #rif #opentoconnect #opentowork #connections #r4r #recruiterjobs #searchengineoptimization #newgrad #careeradvice #careercoach #opportunities #recruiters #interviewtips
