One thing I'm learning about building something new. Standards have to stay high from the get-go. I recruit for an organization that is new to my city. Some candidates I speak with are skeptical because it sounds too good to be true to them. 🤔 $25,000 worth of career training for free? A weekly stipend? Paid to learn? AND placement assistant afterwards? Is that a real thing? 🤔 The brand recognition is not there yet. They haven't heard the story of transformation yet. But we still got goals and metrics, y'all. Timelines and budgets. So do I.... 📉 lower my standards? 📉 accept subpar talent? 📉 allow poor attitudes, just to fill the seats? Or do I... 📈 Raise my standards even higher? 📈 Take extra time to repaint the vision? 📈 Set expectations earlier? To decide, I'm asking myself which one would future me thank current me for? If you want to set a good precedent, gotta go high from the jump 🛫

Data Analyst: Unlocking insights in your data to explode your sales numbers | Solving business challenges through data | Brand Storytelling
Everything we learn in life is a direct result of the experiences, challenges, and triumphs we encounter as we navigate our personal and professional journeys. Regrettably, a significant number of companies tend to overlook entry-level professionals and the value they bring, often viewing them as inexperienced and unpolished. The truth is that recruitment processes are time-consuming and cost-demanding so many organizations will rather spend resources hiring experienced professionals as it's far cost-saving to them. However, if employees only hire candidates based on their CV and experience, they might miss candidates who have the exceptional abilities to bring the desired change in their organization. #startups #entrepreneurs
Many aspirants and entry level professionals think that one should learn "everything" and then "start" working. This will create a fear to "start" and make you loose the opportunity. Instead Start the work but prepare your mind to learn everything that is needed to get that work done! This way you will learn faster and also get more opportunities. ------- How do you approach a new learning opportunity? 👇🏽

Today, I had an open discussion with our new cohort of interns on careers and more specifically career paths. 📖 When I started my career I thought the straightforward career ladder climb was the only way to grow and lead. But as I navigated through various roles and industries, I realized that careers are more often like winding roads. 🌪 A few key lessons from my own non-linear journey: 🏁 Embrace Flexibility: Be open to new opportunities, even if they don't align perfectly with your initial plans. Every experience adds value and can lead to unexpected growth. 🏁 Learn Continuously: In every role, there's something new to learn. Keep your curiosity alive and take learnings from the last thing with you to the next thing. This applies to all aspects of life. 🏁 Stay Alert: What I really mean is... always pay attention to what ignites your excitement and what feels like more of a chore. This can lead you to your true passions. 🏁 Network Authentically: Build genuine connections throughout your career and stay close with the ones that inspire you. Mentors and connections will get you to where you want to be. It's okay if your career doesn't follow a straight line, believeeeee me. Just try to trust that someway somehow every step you take is leading you to where you need to be in that moment. 💖 #careerjourney #nonlinearcareer #careeradvice #creative

Transplanting PhDs into fulfilling non-academic careers 🌻 | Dev Psych PhD → Founder @ After Academia | 50+ job offers for my students 💛
Here's what a successful career program looks like: (I've never shared this publicly before 🤫) Every successful program has 3 components: 1. A comprehensive curriculum 2. A supportive community of peers 3. Personalized guidance and feedback This is why digital courses and peer support groups fall short. Digital courses don't give you any support. Peer support groups don't give you expert feedback. You need both to change careers. But After Academia is everything, all in one place. And it works! Over 40 PhDs have landed job offers this year, with many more in the interview stages. I've spent all summer refining the program materials - to give you all the tools in record time. Ready to change your career? The one-time launch discount ends tonight. (It's the largest discount I’ll ever offer) Join us on my website :) 💛 P.S. - I'm teaming up with a collaborator to bring some exclusive bonuses to the program (valued at $400) 🤫 Enroll today and get early access!

Professional Resume/CV Writer | Empowering Professionals Achieve Career Success Since 2016 | ATS & LinkedIn Expert | Assisted Executives & Freshers in 60+ Industries
90% of jobs can be taught - so why do we insist on only hiring people with experience? As someone who's been on both sides of the hiring process, I've seen firsthand how limiting that mindset can be. Sure, prior experience is valuable, but it's not the be-all and end-all. In fact, some of the most passionate, innovative, and hard-working people I've worked with were those who were given a chance despite lacking a long history of work. The way I see it, if someone is eager to learn and has the right attitude, that's half the battle won. The technical skills? Those can be picked up quickly with the right training and support. So next time you're hiring, I encourage you to look beyond the traditional boxes. Give people a chance to prove themselves - you might just be surprised by the fresh perspectives and boundless enthusiasm they bring to the table. After all, the only way we're going to build truly diverse and dynamic teams is by opening the door to new talent. Who knows, you might just discover your next rising star.
