Taraba taskforce seizes hidden iron monoxide in illegal shipment. The Taraba State Special Taskforce on Environmental Protection, Public Safety, and Prohibition of Deforestation has intercepted a trailer concealing 241 bags of iron monoxide, a valuable mineral resource used in the production of iron, steel, stained glass, and magnetic recording materials. The cargo was hidden beneath layers of waste wood and rubber dust. This development Read More https://lnkd.in/dRCpm2FJ

🔍 Non-Woven Geotextiles: Essential for Managing Liquid Waste 🌍 Non-woven geotextiles, compliant with EN 13265:2016, are indispensable in liquid waste containment projects. With high tensile strength, puncture resistance, and exceptional permeability, they ensure reliable filtration, separation, and protection in critical applications. ✅ In landfills, they prevent leachate infiltration into groundwater. ✅ In industrial wastewater ponds, they ensure containment integrity under chemical exposure. ✅ In mining operations, they safeguard tailings dams by retaining particles and enhancing system durability. Their UV and chemical resistance 🌞⚗️ make them ideal for extreme conditions, while protecting geomembranes from mechanical damage. Whether for 🌱 environmental safety or ✅ regulatory compliance, these geotextiles are vital for sustainable and resilient liquid waste management. #Geotextiles #EN13265 #♻️ #LiquidWasteManagement #Infrastructure

We were tasked with testing soils for waste classification purposes. During the process, our expert engineer on site identified a possible issue with coal tar. Extra samples were taken, and guess what? Coal tar was indeed present 🚫 A crucial element when sampling the ground for waste classification is to be on the lookout for potential contamination that may not have been detected before ✅ While this presents an extra challenge, it's far better to know sooner rather than later. Early detection allows for timely and effective intervention ⏳ Beyond classifying, another benefit of using SoilEx is our comprehensive approach. We not only identify contaminants but also help develop a plan to manage the contamination. This approach can reduce costs and provide a sustainable solution. Believe it or not, 200 million tonnes of asbestos have been produced since mining of the substance began in the 19th century—a colossal sum indeed. The potentially deadly material can cause cancer and severe lung disease when its airborne fibres are inhaled - a problem that kills, on average, 255,000 people every year. Currently, methods of asbestos disposal in Ireland include placing the waste into landfills, a practice that can lead to its release into our water supplies and the wider environment. However, better ways are being used in other parts of the world—something that we look at in this article. #asbestos #ireland #dublin #hazard #safety #HSE

When problem-solving and total solution offering become a valuable testimony for our Pumps ! Sludge transfer and Hydrogen peroxide metering done the accurate and efficient way impacting the quality of environment and water raising the bar of sustainability through Watson Marlow peristaltic pumps. #positivedisplacementpump #watertreatment #dosing #sustainability
Bredel hose pumps are enabling a water treatment plant at Cornish Metals’ South Crofty tin mine to bring sustainable benefits to the local environment. Eight Bredel 40 hose pumps are transferring sludge at the WTP, whilst three Qdos chemical metering pumps reliably dose hydrogen peroxide to oxidise the contaminated metals in the minewater at the WTP. Steven Kingstone, South Crofty Project Manager at Cornish Metals had the below to say when speaking about the impact of both Bredel and Qdos pumps: “By removing those metals from the environment, it massively improves the quality of the water, and allows life to come back into the river.” Read more on this impressive case study here: https://lnkd.in/ejd8WfgH

In the steel industry, a large amount of waste gas containing sulfur dioxide is produced during the iron-making process. By adopting desulfurization technology, steel companies can reduce the concentration of sulfur dioxide in waste gas and reduce the impact on the surrounding environment. #FGD #environmental #powerplant #wastegascontrol #SNCR #WetScrubber #pmcontrol #building #damper #baffle #Desulfurization #Denitrification

Calcite in Municipal Water Desalination Municipal desalination projects play a vital role in supplying drinking water to cities and towns, especially in arid regions. For these projects, calcite offers a reliable, effective way to ensure water quality, providing essential minerals and stabilizing pH to meet regulatory standards. Municipalities benefit from calcite’s natural properties, reducing the need for synthetic chemicals and producing water that’s safe, consistent, and environmentally friendly.
