Envirocon conducted a 3-day survey/GPS training last week with designated team members. The team received valuable and in-depth training covering the use of industry leading GPS hardware and software. Training included general overview of Trimble hardware (base and rover), Trimble software for data processing and construction model building (Trimble Business Center), Drone use for survey, Drone date processing (Propeller: Smart Surveys for Earthwork), Infield Trimble GPS base and rover setup, Infield Trimble GPS machine control, and the use of AutoCAD civil 3D for survey data processing and as built deliverable creation. Additionally, training was provided for Komatsu GPS I machines interface, Topcon software (Topcon 3D office), Infield I machine setup / operations, and GPS machine model construction. Congratulations to all trainees for arming themselves with this invaluable knowledge and technology. #envirocon #technology #gps #survey #remediation #topcon2d #trimble

Who recognises this Bavarian landmark? This dramatic square kilometer is created from free geospatial data from GEODATEN ONLINE, the Bavarian geoportal. - Terrain from a 1m grid spaced DEM (3.6 MB GeoTIFF). - Texture and orthophoto from a 40cm pixel size orthophoto (15.6 MB GeoTIFF). - Buildings at LoD2 from a CityGML model, converted through Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) Modelviewer. All data georeferenced in UTM32 coordinates with DHHN2016 heights (the current German height system). #Kudos to Bavaria for their open data policy, providing rich background data for geospatialists. Data processed and displayed in my go-to CAD/Viewer combo, AutoCAD Civil 3D and Navisworks Manage. P.S. who wants to see an accuracy test vs my trusty #Trimble GNSS rover? 😎 #geospatial #surveying #vermessung #autodesk #civil3d #navisworks #dtm #mapping #bayern #3d

‘It’s just changed everything’ - Next Generation embraces digitalisation as Ben Sibley explains the benefits of combining a DEVELON Europe DL225 excavator with an Engcon UK Ltd tiltrotator with Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon 3D machine control. I met Ben onsite in Newquay, Cornwall, to find out how, as a younger operator, he has made the switch to using 3D machine control. He also explained how he and the CHRIS SIBLEY GROUNDWORKS LIMITED team are supported by a local dealer, One Point Survey Equipment, with machine control and surveying equipment. In this video, Ben explains that, following some awareness training, he now just gets to the site, puts his own offsets into the Leica Geosystems tablet, and gets to work. Ben: “I have been operating now for around 11 years and recently started using machine control, with the help of Lee Knowles and Robert Elliott of One Point Survey. “It's just changed everything as I can now get on site and be able to start work because I have the whole 3D earthworks model created by our engineers on my tablet in the machine. “I am also using an Engcon tiltrotator with the Leica Geosystems machine control and this combines really well for doing housebuilding plots. All the buckets I use are calibrated into the machine, and we have even done calibration work on buckets without the tiltrotator if someone else needs to use it. “A new machine will be arriving soon, already fitted with machine control by One Point Survey. They will calibrate it in the same way so I can then use the tablet and Engcon straight away. #machinecontrol #3dmc #operator #plantoperator #earthworks #housebuilding #constructiontechnology engcon

Importance of providing a valley curve in the vertical profile of a metro 🚇 line: 1. Smooth Transition: A valley curve helps provide a smooth transition between downward and upward gradients. Without it, sharp changes in the slope can cause discomfort for passengers and increase stress on the train's structure. 2. Passenger Comfort: The valley curve ensures a gradual change in elevation, which minimizes jolts or sudden movements, thus enhancing the comfort of passengers. 3. Reduced Wear and Tear: A smooth curve reduces the strain on the track and the train’s components, which helps lower maintenance costs and extends the life of both the track and rolling stock. What more can be added❓ #civilengineering #metro #autocad #valleycurve #transportation #autodesk

Survey Systems, Inc. | Line of Site | By utilizing publicly available LiDar, with plans of a building under construction, Survey Systems (SSI) was able to demonstrate “line-of-site” between buildings. To process this information, SSI utilized AutoCAD Civil 3D software, existing LiDar data, and building height and dimensions from plans provided by client. The animation shows how this information was interpolated by Survey Systems.
