Environment Agency’s Post

Yesterday our CEO Phillip Duffy visited Quorn in Leicestershire with Environment Secretary Steve Reed to see the impacts of recent flooding and meet with response staff. Together, we are working to better protect communities across England.

Great to see - would be good to have you up in Woodborough, Notts which repeatedly floods.

I hear that this was a difficult visit as a result of some of locals having been flooded more than once in the past 12 to 18 months. It would be good to capture all the issues and gain an understanding on what support Recovery teams could receive from government going forward as it does not sit within incident response or BAU operations.

Good to see the CEO out and about. Can we get some more funding for NFM projects please?

Where is the better protection and where is schedule 3 and sustainable drainage and where is the restrictions on flood plains ? For Gods sake please show some respect to natural systems rather than PR exercise!
