As Secretariat of the recently concluded Scottish Taskforce for Green and Sustainable Financial Services I attended the inaugural Irish-U.K. Transition Finance Summit in Dublin on 26th November 2024. At the Summit Stephen Nolan and the UNDP Financial Centres for Sustainability (FC4S) launched a British and Irish Isles Transition Finance Working Group which, I believe, was mentioned at last week's British-Irish Council meeting. The Working Group brings together financial centres from across the British and Irish Isles, including Edinburgh (me!), Dublin (Gillian Power, ISFCOE - International Sustainable Finance Centre of Excellence), Glasgow (me again!), Guernsey (Stephanie Glover, Guernsey Finance), Isle of Man (Paul Blake FCMI, Finance Isle of Man), Jersey (Tom McKenna, Jersey Finance) and London (Felicity Hall, City of London Corporation). Its purpose is to accelerate the adoption of effective transition finance strategies to meet net-zero targets.
First Minister John Swinney welcomed the 42nd Summit of the British-Irish Council to Scotland. The meeting provided a forum for political leaders to discuss collaborative work on tackling climate change and protecting the planet. Watch for more.

From advocating at UN climate summits, to influencing governments to include water in climate adaptation plans, we've shown how clean water can help communities withstand the climate crisis. And we won't stop here. In our blog, explore some of the highlights of our climate change campaign so far. 👉 https://brnw.ch/21wJNL0 #WorldClimateChangeDay
