You wouldn’t expect small, rural towns like Liberty, North Carolina; Ellabell, Georgia; and Stanton, Tennessee to prove that climate progress means economic progress – but they are. These three towns are now the sites of massive new EV and battery manufacturing projects that will create thousands of jobs and generate new business opportunities that can lift up these communities, all while building the technologies that will drive us toward a sustainable future. For an inside look, Inside Climate News details how Toyota’s $13.9 billion battery manufacturing facility in Liberty is transforming the economic future of this community and the surrounding region, bringing in 5,000+ jobs. As a local city manager put it, “For the first time in the 250 years of Randolph County’s existence, we have a chance to be wealthy.” Stories like this are playing out across the country right now, thanks to historic federal investments in clean energy.

My son was offered a job at the Hyundai plant in Ellabell! It wasn’t the right fit, but it sure was tempting for the EV/climate aspects and the community aspects!

Nic, if you get a chance to visit Ellabell, I would love to take your around the site! We are proud to be one of the energy suppliers for Hyundai.
