Our Early Child Development Center (ECDC) was recently recognized for its exceptional work in child nutrition and wellness at the Kansas State Department of Education 2024 Best Practice Awards! Stacy Fuller, our Vice President of Rehabilitation Services, and Teresa Houston, Director of our ECDC, attended the ceremony where ECDC received not one, but two prestigious awards: the Kansans CAN Impact Wellness Award and the Kansans CAN Serve Local Foods Award. Our ECDC has been a cornerstone in childcare services in the Wichita community for 14 years, and has actively participated in the Child and Adult Care Food Nutrition Program for over a decade. We are honored to receive these awards! #WichitaChildCare #ChildCare

The childcare sector is constantly evolving, and staying informed about industry trends is crucial for ensuring that we continue to provide the best possible care for children. From changes in regulations to new approaches in care, these trends shape the way we work and the outcomes we achieve. One trend that I find particularly interesting is the increasing emphasis on trauma-informed care. Understanding the impact of trauma on children and adapting our care strategies accordingly is essential for helping them to heal and thrive. It’s an approach that requires ongoing training and a deep commitment to the well-being of the children in our care. As we continue to learn and grow in this field, I’m excited to see how these trends will influence our work and the positive outcomes we can achieve for the children we support. #Childcare #TraumaInformedCare #ChildrensResidentialCare

Standards matter in childcare! Whether you're a nanny, newborn care specialist, or professional nanny, following guidelines and expectations is crucial. Here's why: 1️⃣ Commitment to ethical behaviors and professionalism ensures that caregivers maintain integrity and act responsibly, creating a trustworthy relationship with families. 2️⃣ Establishing a safe environment is a top priority! Adhering to safety standards helps protect children from potential hazards and promotes their well-being. 3️⃣ Promoting child development and growth means nurturing their cognitive, physical, emotional, and social skills. Standards guide caregivers in providing age-appropriate activities and support. 4️⃣ Cognitive development and academic advancement are fostered through structured learning experiences and educational opportunities, setting children up for future success. 5️⃣ Nutrition, health, and wellness play a vital role in a child's overall development. Following standards ensures that caregivers prioritize healthy eating habits and promote general well-being. 6️⃣ Positive relationships with children, family members, and employers are essential. Standards help nannies establish trust, open communication, and mutual respect within the caregiving dynamic. By adhering to these standards, nannies can provide high-quality care tailored to meet the unique needs of each family. Let's prioritize excellence in childcare! 👶 usnanny.org/standards/ #NannyStandards #ChildDevelopment #SafetyFirst #Nanny #newborn #infant #Professionalism #sitter
