On June 13, Envu employees across 23 countries participated in our second global Community Service Day! But Community Service Day is not just a date on our calendar — it's a powerful expression of our unwavering commitment to advancing healthy environments for everyone everywhere. It’s a day where our team members turn off their screens, step outside and engage in meaningful activities that create a positive impact in the communities we serve. This year, we witnessed an inspiring outpouring of #Envusiastic participation with employees contributing to a variety of organizations and missions aimed at improving their local environment and supporting those in need. All told, our team donated over 1,500 hours of service. Here are just a few highlights from this year’s many activities: 🇧🇷 Brazil: Teams raised awareness about dengue fever and organized food baskets for families in need. 🇫🇷 France: Colleagues supported food pantries, engaged in painting and gardening, provided marketing coaching for young entrepreneurs, and spent time with elderly residents. 🇩🇪 Germany: Our team cleaned local parks and hosted educational sessions in kindergarten classrooms about insects and bugs. 🇮🇳 India: Volunteers donated blood, planted trees, and visited orphanages and homes for the elderly. 🇲🇽 Mexico: Partnering with the Mexican Confederation of Organizations in Favor of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, our team supported gardening and baking activities. 🇸🇬 Singapore: Volunteers delivered over 100 meals to elderly home-bound seniors, spreading joy and care. 🇺🇸 United States: Employees cleaned trash from lakes and parks, prepared lunch bags for a women’s shelter, and cleaned animal habitats and vegetation overgrowth at a science museum. Countless photos were submitted from employees around the world, so this post only scratches the surface of their impact. A heartfelt thank you to ALL our Envu employees who participated and turned this day into a collective success! Your efforts embody our #OneTeamOneDream spirit and our drive to create healthier environments for everyone across the globe. Together, we are a force with nature and a #ForceForGood!

"Our livestock are dead, and I now fear for my life and my children's," says Godanno Mamo, a mother of seven who lives in an isolated village on the edge of a rocky plateau in Marsabit County, northern Kenya. A prolongued, climate change-induced drought—a result of five consecutive failed rains—has made things worse for Godanno's family. No rain means no water, or crops, and her livestock are dying. The situation is especially dangerous for pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers, like Godanno; they rely on livestock to get milk for essential nutrients. "We are dealing with a sharp rise in malnutrition among the vulnerable groups," shares Kame Wato, Amref's Public Health Specialist. "Women are now frail, and they can't even go to the health facilities at the centers." Godanno's closest health centre is 35 kilometres away. Under the relentless sun, weak mothers and children cannot walk the distance, and the sick often remain at home. The One Health Unit's mobile community health outreach comes once a month to Godanno’s community. "For us, to get health service, it is only during such mobile clinic outreaches," she says. Donate to our Big Give appeal today to help bring health home to more communities on the frontline of the climate crisis. One donation, for twice the impact https://lnkd.in/etRAjWVA #amref #amrefuk #maternalhealth #publichealth #climatechange #onehealth

A lifeline for voiceless creatures!! Straycare Foundation! I recently worked as a volunteer designer for a non-profit organization called Straycare Foundation based in Belgaum, Karnataka. The purpose of StrayCare Foundation is to rescue stray animals in need and give them the right home and medication required. Business needs: 1) Build a community of volunteers and expand the network to help rescue more animals. 2) Increase the rates of rescue 3) Reduce miscommunication and enhance response rates My Approach: 1) Conduct an audit of the current challenges in animal rescue and care activities. 2) Engage with various stakeholders including shelter owners, volunteers, and activists to understand their experiences and communication challenges. 3) Analyze the flow of information and collaboration among different groups involved in animal rescue. 4) Evaluate the current technology and identify what functionalities are needed in an app to support animal rescue efforts. This project was close to my heart not because I got to work for an organization but as an animal lover myself, I was able to contribute to this great cause. I would like to thank Aditya Anavekar who also worked on this app with me. Would love to hear your feedback.

📣 Here’s what Geeta Seshamani, VP of Friendicoes, has to say about the challenges and triumphs of finding homes for the animals under our care. 🌱 Friendicoes’ core mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need. The adoption programme is a critical part of this mission and one of the most challenging. Our adoption centre aims to provide loving homes for 200 to 300 abandoned, abused and neglected animals each year. 🏥 Here, these animals receive the medical care, nourishment, and love needed to recover and thrive. Each one has faced abandonment, loneliness, and both mental and physical trauma. Our goal is to find suitable homes for them, places where they will be safe, loved, and cherished despite any weaknesses they may have, such as old age, chronic health issues, or physical disabilities. 🏠 The process of rehoming these animals involves meticulous screening of potential adopters, conducting interviews, home checks, and providing orientation about the animal’s breed or size. We also perform follow-ups to ensure successful adoptions. This extensive care incurs substantial costs, including vaccinations, neutering, and general care, averaging around INR 12,000 per animal per month. 📈 We face ongoing challenges, such as an influx of abandoned pedigree pets, large breeds, and animals discarded by backyard breeders. Financial constraints often limit our ability to help every needy animal, which is heartbreakingly difficult for our team. 🥳 Every adoption story highlights the profound impact we can make with your support. Each successful adoption opens the door for another animal to find a family and a second chance at life. Your contributions are vital to our efforts and allow us to continue this critical work. 🌟 And remember your support, no matter the size, has the power to save lives and bring happiness to our four-legged friends. 📍Click the link below to donate and make a difference https://lnkd.in/gADuifAj #FriendicoesSeca #AnimalRescue #SupportFriendicoes #AnimalWelfare

📍📍📍 Los Angeles, CA 📍📍📍 💔💔💔 Blue #A2075463 💔💔💔 💔 CLEARED FOR EUTHANASIA — PAST DEADLINE! NEEDS TO EXIT BY 4PM (4/2) ‼️ This sweet scared boy is Blue. He was found dumped on the freeway in LA over a year ago. and has been sitting in an empty, wet kennel ever since. Blue has been waiting for more than a year. 365+ days of confinement. and somehow, no one has wanted him. He is now extremely urgent due to medical issues (weight loss and undiagnosed masses). This poor boy was scheduled to be killed a few days ago (3/27) but is miraculously still alive. But he still doesn’t have a rescue plan and desperately needs out before the shelter closes TODAY. This boy is a volunteer favorite. He’s available for public adoption or rescue. A rescue would be ideal so he can properly decompress and get used to life outside of the shelter. He’s approx 6 years old, neutered and in need of a hero. Can anyone foster this sweet deserving boy that has been so failed?? This can’t be where his life ends 🥺 A long term foster offer and pledges are the best way to attract a reputable rescue and could potentially save a life 🙏 If you can’t foster, sharing posts, interacting and donating via pledges are also extremely helpful. Please note that all pledges are intended to be for a reputable 501(c)3 rescue unless the person donating states otherwise Shelter info: https://lnkd.in/erWYmKun 📍North Central Shelter 3201 Lacy Street Los Angeles, CA 90031 888 452 7381 Hours: Tues-Fri 8-5, Sat-Sun 11-5 RePosted • @bethevoiceforourfurryvoiceless 🐾 For more doggies follow my Instagram accounts: @lenkalove or @adoptdogusa #adoptdogusa #lenkalove 🐾 PLEASE NOTE: I am a volunteer based in EU and do NOT work for the shelter. This is the third in a series of three posts in which I am reflecting upon the sixth-year anniversary of MenHealing. As mentioned in the two previous posts, “Relationship” is an important core value of our organization. This core value is essential to our success in fostering community amongst survivors of sexual harm, who often live in isolation. As an Evolutionary Organization, MenHealing embodies community emerging from the seeds of relationship. Weekends of Recovery, Support Groups, and many of our other resources embrace the modality of healing in community. Relationship is a seed that has the capacity to sprout into connection and connection has the potential to grow into community. WORs bring men together, allowing them to connect and step into a larger WOR Alumni community. MenHealing then allows opportunities to remain engaged in this community. Many of our Support Staff are Alumni, including: Jordan (Creative Director); Timothy (Growth and Engagement Director); Eric (Web Design); Mike (Blog Manager); Jeremy (Support Groups); Alex (Board) Our Support Group Project extends community by inviting Alumni to become Peer Leaders who are trained to Co-Facilitate on-going virtual groups for other survivors; we currently have trained more than 30 Peer Leaders; An Annual Service Project at Best Friends Animal Society (Utah) allows Alumni, Staff, friends and family to share a weekend of volunteer service to help animals who have been harmed by injury or neglect; Collaborations between Staff and Alumni sometimes evolve into Alumni becoming staff; further collaborations nurture our culture of engaged community, which provides an alternative to becoming a bifurcated service organization. As Executive Director, I am invested in continuing to promote opportunities for Relationship. Relationship is more than a core value; it is foundational for an Evolutionary Organization such as MenHealing. Community is a predictable outcome of healthy working relationships, thereby contributing to our greater vision of promoting movement-building for survivors and allies.

Today is World Bee Day, we're celebrating the recently launched Bumblebee Conservation Trust's new website. Unfortunately, bumblebees are in crisis, with two species already extinct and several others dramatically in decline. The Bumblebee Conservation Trust's work inspires everyone to take urgent action to support and provide habitats that will protect UK bumblebee populations. The charity has created a community of people that help bumblebees survive and thrive through conservation and science projects, fundraising, surveying and monitoring. We needed to reflect the charity's story and work through impactful messaging and inspiring imagery to create an experience that better reflects Bumblee Conservation Trust's brand and highlights the impact of their important work. We started with exploratory user research with internal and external stakeholders to uncover user-based pain points and improvements. Together with the client, we were able to simplify the user and donation journey, eliminate inequality between members and non-members and combine multiple websites and domains into one simple website. We designed a website to build an engaged movement of diverse people to take action for bumblebees and help increase their number and distribution. Find out how you can support on the Bumblebee Conservation Trust's website: https://lnkd.in/drh5qSK #WorldBeeDay #Bumblebee #CharityWebsite #UXResearch Video description: A computer screen with the Bumblebee Conservation Trust website scrolling through the homepage. With the words Good People + Good Work = Better World and the Pixeled Eggs logo at the bottom of the image.

It's hard to believe that we have saved so many, but I am glad to say that we have, no matter the hardship along the way. And the hardship this year has been real, as you will see in a later post. However, this post is focusing on how you can take action to make the world a better place to be in! You can be the difference for Great Danes and other giant breeds nationwide right now by taking some simple steps to make a difference through adoption, donations, and volunteering your time as a foster. If you're looking to adopt a gentle giant that gives you the “Dane lean” and gets random spurts of zoomies? Then you’re in the right place! All of our Great Danes are altered, if medically possible, fully vetted, micro-chipped, and on heart-worm prevention or treatment prior to being adopted. Our adoptable Great Danes, adoption application, adoption fees and FAQ are located on our website. When you adopt, you’re officially a lifesaver and bringing home a best friend for life. Are you ready to make an instant impact? Donating to our animal rescue is quick and easy and it’s one of the most effective ways to support our mission to put an end to animal cruelty, abuse, neglect, and high-kill shelters. And it is the whole point of Giving Tuesday. If you have the funds to donate, then do it. Many nonprofits are hurting for funds and it starts with our followers. It's Giving Tuesday, so give. Are you able to commit time to join our organization? Then foster or volunteer. Please read the entire page on our website if you’re considering volunteering or fostering with us. It does not have to be that hard to feel like you are making a difference. Start taking action instead of standing idle. So, how are you going to make a difference? Elephants are a huge attraction in Sri Lanka. I had the opportunity to visit an Elephant Orphanage on my trip. They're what we call NGOs in India - a not-for-profit set up - and they take in elephants who are injured, old or disabled. Most of these elephants can never go back into the work force so the organisation ends up looking after them for their whole lives. Since Asian elephants can live up to 75-80 years, thats a long, long commitment. Not only do they need to cater to the animal's daily food requirements (they can eat up to 150 kilos of food a day), they need a large space to home them and medicines and other essentials are also part of the expenses incurred. And so, these orphanages (there are many in the country), rely on tourists for a part of the income. From a museum of sorts to feeding elephants and bathing them - the activities they offer are diverse. Tourists can also take a long walk into the forest with the elephants. The only part I did not like was that they offered elephant rides. Personally, I am against animal rides because of the exploitation angle, and I hadn't expected them to offer the same. In the 30 minutes I spent there, I saw many tourists opt for the elephant ride and very few to feed the animal, which is very sad. While I understand the pressure to raise funds to run the set up, I do wish organisations took stronger stands against the exploitation of the very animals they're trying to save. Other than this one aspect, a visit to an Elephant Orphanage is highly recommended. ~They also have a volunteer programme at the Orphanage~ Photo: A tourist indulging in the most fun activity to do because the elephant also loves water so much! #easeindiatravel #experiencetravel #srilankatourism #srilanka #traveltips #traveltheworld #sonyalpha #srilankatravel #elephants

Happy Valentine, Happy Elephants. Celebrate your love with a gift of life! This #ValentinesDay, swap the ordinary chocolates for something extraordinary-chocolate-coloured-elephants. 🐘 🐘🐘 💝 Adopt an orphaned baby elephant in our care for loved one & give a gift of love & life. A gift adoption is a unique and lasting sign of your love and, unlike chocolates or flowers which will quickly disappear, an adoption can last a lifetime. You can choose to adopt for one or more years and, throughout the duration of the gift, your loved one can watch their chosen elephant or rhino grow and thrive, knowing their gift from you has helped support the life of an orphan in need. https://lnkd.in/eNyJdJAS #helpelephants, #happyvalentine, #giftoflife PS: Ist das nicht schöner und sinnvoller als der 10. neue Lippenstift oder ein Strauß Blumen? Bereits 40 € im Jahr helfen. Auch kleinere Spenden wirken Großes.
