SAY HER NAME! SONYA MASSEY! #SayHerName is once again trending online and social media platforms after a disturbing footage emerges of moment Sonya Massey was shot. The bodycam video of Sonya Massey, a Black woman, fatally shot by a vicious degenerate white police officer, has ignited social media outrage! And justifiably so!! This entire scenario and our current political climate is errily triggering, it's reminiscent of the Breonna Taylor and George Floyd killings at the hands of police during another culturally important presidential election. This feels like a rerun of the Twilight Zone. But it's not, a 36-year-old Black woman, Sonya Massey, was fatally shot by a white police who was by her to assist her. After he shot her for no logical reason he showed no sense of remorse, no empathy nothing! He took her life like she was nobody's daughter, mother, sister, cousin, friend...like she was nothing! He didn't blink an eye! His name is Sean P. Grayson Who is the mother of this man? Who raised this monster? ...Who created this subhuman. What causes this kind of hate? It has to be eradicated. We can not continue to give police badges and guns to dividuals with this kind of hate and evilness in their hearts. DEMAND POLICE REFORM IN HIRING PRACTICE AND TRANSPARENCY. MAAR platform believes that If we as moms are "truly" the hands that rocks the cradles which rules the nations", WE can also be the hands that "shape and mold the hearts and minds" of those who will have the power one day to be the catalyst for positive change in combating/subduing the racism and hatred of this world! This is a call to ACTION for all MOMS/WOMEN, regardless of ethnicity, or religious or political affiliations, to organize and help curb and subdue the disease of RACISM and the HATE that fuels it!! MAAR'S platform uses education and facilitates dialogue to build relationships that will form allyships that will leverage resources and privilege to bring awareness to racial injustice and inequality. We are committed to educating in order to raise children with empathy, compassion, and RESPECT for all ethnicities! There Is Only One Race. THE HUMAN RACE. We are not only fighting for the soul of democracy, but for the soul of humanity’s right to exist. Become An Ally! Join The Fight Against Hate! "'One hundred percent, she was a #DEI hire,' Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) told CNN’s Manu Raju on Monday, adding, 'When you go down that route, you get mediocrity.'" As vile as this sentence is, it's no different from what I've heard for the last four years from #faculty who are resistant to engaging in #equitable and #inclusivehiring practices (mostly #white male faculty). And I'm tired of it. What I have to say is nothing new, but it apparently needs to be said again (because #BIPOC people and women have been saying this loudly and plainly for decades). What are you really saying when you claim someone is a #DEIhire or #diversity hire? Certainly the implication is that she is being "given" the job (of being a candidate? for an election she still has to win?) because she's #Black, a #woman, or both, and that she is expressly *not* qualified. So which part of Kamala Harris makes her unqualified? Are Black people simply unqualified on the basis of their #race? Are women unqualified for positions of #leadership based simply on their sex (or #gender or #genderidentity)? If that's your belief, say it with your full chest. Don't hide behind euphemisms and culture war sound bites. Let the world see you for what you really are. For others who find this abhorrent, you have a duty to call it out and make sure every single person in your department, office, committee, working group, laboratory, division, unit, college, or institution knows what's happening. Do not let this kind of conversation slide. We already know what happens if we do. If you define yourself as or have aspirations of being a "leader" on your campus and you allow others around you to say these things, you have also exposed yourself. Leadership mandates inclusion and care for others; you cannot engage in a practice of leadership without it. By its very definition, leadership requires this baseline work. It's the simplest thing in the world to do and until we eradicate it from our institutions, not one of us can claim to work in an inclusive place.

Are you a #Bridgerton fan? #NicolaCoughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington in the series, 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 $𝟮𝗠 𝗨𝗦𝗗 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱. This isn't just celebrity philanthropy — it's a brilliant example of how influential figures can use their platforms to champion human rights. One that I hope to achieve myself. When people in power commit to positive change, it can have a profound impact. Such is the case with Coughlan's initiative. I think it serves as a stark reminder that influence brings responsibility — and a call to action for us all to consider how we can contribute to a more equitable world within our own spheres of influence. We often use entertainment as a means of escape. But equally, it’s imperative to recognize 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗼𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝘆 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. In this way, we look beyond the glittering facade of period dramas and think about how entertainment can affect real life. Do you think more celebrities need to use their influence for positive change? I'd love to hear your views! (Source: @thepcrf on Instagram) #HumanRights #WorldPeace #SocialChange #WomenInPower

THANK F someone else is writing about this!!!! A lot of us have forgotten his grifter past. Only it is not so grifter-ey anymore (the scale is large), and it is not in the past; he is doing it again. We have forgotten what he did in 2020. And now I learn from Erica Ifill's post that his nastiness has been happening for 10 years! “Black women on Twitter have been warning about him for a decade.” I would like to build on the original post. If you have been posting Shaun King content and if you are bristling right now/got your feelings hurt by Erica’s post or this post, it is time to examine: 1. Your anti-Black racism 2. Your Misogynoir 3. Your activism practices. This post isn’t just for the mayo sapiens. This post is also for the brown/desi community. I see you. I am you. I experience how we move, and the conversations we have when it is just us. Anti-Black racism and colourism/shadism are ripe and rampant in the brown/desi communities. We have so many slurs and derisive terms: Habshi, Kalu, Kallu, bander, kale, Kali, karumban, kaala-kaluta, Kolshyachi vakhaar, kaalundri, etc.. And then our mommies and aunties with their stellar advice: “use fair and lovely and jolene, and don’t sit out in the sun lest we become dark.” Eff That. If your activism is selective then your activism is also conditional and performative. We do not get to pick and choose which marginalized groups we show up for. As June Jordan notes: “Activism is not issue-specific. It’s a moral posture that, steady state, propels you forward, from one hard hour to the next.” (Full poem in comments) **Our collective liberation cannot and will not come at the expense of further oppressing other marginalized groups.** Palestine is not just a litmus test; it is also a springboard and the spearhead. We do not get to sit down after; Palestine is the most effective start we have had to date. As Aisha Saleh notes: Palestine is the “greatest chance we will ever get to ultimately achieve liberation for all. If we can achieve freedom for the Palestinians, we can achieve freedom for anyone” (see link in comments to learn more about this). 💜

I’ve been noticing on here people defending Shaun King as a great activist who speaks out for marginalized communities. Let me tell you, he’s a grifter. He is no real activist. He has stolen the writings of many Black women, his fundraising never reaches the entities he’s fundraising for and picks on true Black activists. He’s a user and a grifter. Black women on Twitter have been warning about him for a decade. Look up #BlockShaunKing on Twitter and read this:

Something to consider for inclusion and psychological safety at live events:
Dear live event organizers, Encourage all attendees to include pronouns on their name tags if they’re comfortable. It signals inclusion, reduces the chance of microaggressions, and validates non-binary genders. Sincerely, a they/them with a beard 🧔🏻♂️✨
