“We get consistency — factual, unbiased data. We take out the margin of error when compared with boots on the ground and people’s opinions. We reduce our carbon footprint by not putting vehicles on the road. There’s also a safety advantage.” - Brent Huwa, CEO of Huwa Enterprises, speaks to the multifaceted benefits of using the #environmentaltwin concept in its land reclamation and restoration work with Teren in this recent Cadalyst article by Andrew Roe: "Environmental Twins Gain Traction in the Field." Full article below. Discover how other Teren customers use #LiDAR and remotely-sensed imagery fused with other data to model vegetation, hydrology, and other assets for projects such as #pipelines, #renewable energy facilities, and land restoration of areas impacted by #wildfires and other #naturaldisasters: https://lnkd.in/g77aCW_E

I prepared a map for stream order analysis of a watershed area exceeding 830 km² using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) techniques. This map illustrates the organization of the river network within the watershed, which can be applied in water resource management and environmental planning projects. The color gradient represents different stream orders, with order 5 indicating the main outlet, providing a clearer understanding of how water flows through the watershed. #GIS #GeospatialAnalysis #WaterResourceManagement #EnvironmentalPlanning"

Applications of GIS and Remote Sensing in Environmental Conservation! On the whole, the GIS and remote sensing systems allow the user to collect, manage, and analyze local, regional, or global aspects of environmental sciences. These systems have great potential to be applied in a wide range of #environmental areas of research and in natural resources #management. These include, but are not limited to, land use #planning, soil erosion prediction, environmental pollution monitoring, water resources management, and conservation of ecosystems. They have a special advantage over traditional methods of data collection and processing because they provide an excellent trend towards the local or global scale analysis of environmental science. Currently, environmental scientists and conservationists use GIS, remote sensing, and GPS technology as a tool for land use planning and management. These technologies can be applied to analyze problems and solutions to conservation issues and to develop new strategies to protect microbial, plant, and animal communities. In developing, in order to maintain needed employees and inputs for conservation and environmental management, GIS and remote sensing technologies are used. They are also used to efficiently gather or utilize crucial information needed to conserve and protect the environment. GIS and remote sensing can be used as a diagnostic tool to help model problems and planning methods and to evaluate the effectiveness of monitoring when we apply the assistant technique of environmental conservation. We should also continue to develop it as a diagnostic tool. #GIS #Pakistan #Geography #Environment
