WHAT IS IRONMAN DOING NEXT TO CS844? I took this picture when I first went to LECO 's world headquarters in Michigan. A total rookie at the time,I was puzzled by the radiating "beating heart". It turns out the glowing 4 tube arrangement is an independent furnace (TF4) to "prep" the crucibles. A certain temperature. A certain number of minutes. This can be very useful when measuring very low levels of Carbon and Sulfur. So what exactly could be on, or in the crucibles to warrant such a procedure?
