I have multiple major projects I want to complete over the next few months. I imagine I'm not alone here in a long list of 'want to get done'. They're not single client specific but they fall into these buckets: - better pulse on total account health - deeper value for clients - deeper relationships - company value Hardest part? Prioritizing. They all feel like 10/10 ideas so you want to GO GO GO. Stepping back to focus and outlining next step(s) is key. Also, simple ranking of High to Low priority level 👌 Truth is even good ideas are not all created equal. The lens has to be: what has the most real client impact? Focus is the theme of summer 2024.

Half year Business review... Last week, as Vincent Van de Poll and I wrapped up our side-by-side work before our staggered summer holidays, we took some time to reflect on our first few months at Digital Ambitions and to plan for the future. Things have definitely taken unexpected turns since we started. It took us a while to clearly define our offerings (we help businesses grow by tackling their biggest questions and implementing hands-on solutions). The market has shifted too—companies are more hesitant to invest, projects are scarcer, and decisions are taking longer. Despite these challenges and a slower start than anticipated, with several proposals left unanswered and a few project setbacks, we remain optimistic. Vincent and I are still thrilled to be working together, and we see plenty of opportunities on the horizon. We’ve learned a lot in these four months, and we’re eager to apply these insights as we move forward. For the next few weeks, it’ll just be either me or Vincent keeping things running, but by mid-August, we'll be back at full strength, ready to chase down new opportunities and tackle fresh challenges. Here's to a productive summer and an even more dynamic fall!

Before the big European summer break, we teamed up with Serena to provide our founders with food for thought on why and, most importantly, how to expand in Europe under optimal conditions. The coffee was packed with actionable insights on where to start, who to partner with, and important tips and traps to consider. Here are the top three takeaways from our conversation: 🎢 Strategic Planning always takes more time than expected and does not only involve analyzing external risks but also considering how your international presence can enhance (or hinder) your equity story. ⏱ The "go big and fast" approach is tempting, but ensure your home market is strong and your team is prepared before expanding. Also, prioritize markets with manageable entry costs and favorable conditions. 🇩🇪 While Germany is crucial for a strong European presence, it’s also one of the most complex markets regulatory-wise. Start by learning the ropes in easier markets like Belgium or Switzerland. And these are just the tip of the iceberg! A gray space I've been exploring lately: I want to know myself. I want to be self-aware. I want to know how I got here. I want to ground myself in my values. I want to make decisions that align with who I am. Our values are part of our identity. They shape the foundation of who we are. And I also think they can hold us back. When we hold too tightly to our values, they can prevent us from exploring other opinions. They can narrow our field of vision and keep us from seeing other possibilities. So I've been imagining values like this: Our values are our roots. They ground us in who we are today. Our branches are growth. Our branches are possibilities. Our branches show us who we can become tomorrow. When we challenge our own perspective, more branches grow. When we get curious and ask lots of questions, more branches grow. When we put ourselves in someone else's shoes, more branches grow. We need to be rooted in our values. We also need to challenge ourselves to keep growing. How does this (maybe too deep) metaphor play out in real life? Whenever I find my beliefs or values challenged, I don't immediately dismiss them as wrong. Every time I'm challenged, I see it as an opportunity to either validate or revise my opinion. What do you think? Do you think our values can and should change as humans?
