Climate, ecology & public policy focused. Independent Writing & Editing Professional (open to ghostwriting for environmental non-profits)
Re/ Political Discussions on LinkedIn: From time to time on LinkedIn, some of my connections and i have been complained about by platform users here who, often hypocritically, say that "your politics don't belong here." Some who've complained are busy themselves promoting (often openly hateful) rightwing ideology in their own posts and comments. Regularly here, we see 😆 reactions on seriously researched posts (even about matters of life & death), while we endure comments attacking the work of peer-reviewed scientists, informed activists, and honest promoters of democratic values. Some here openly promote 'Hell on Earth' via a rightwing oligarchy which embraces fossil fuels, unregulated run-amok capitalism, and intolerance for "the other." This, while most here (whom I follow & connect with) prefer content which is science-based, well-reasoned, on the side of a healthy environment, and for honest working class people. 🥷Of course, many rightwing trolls are just bots &/or duplicative/ false accounts - so this social media back & forth can be quite a murky hassle. I am a big believer, btw, in blocking and reporting abuses to LinkedIn admin. 🤺💰Strife on social media platforms is of course a reflection of the bigger battles being waged for influence over/ within our broader economies. LinkedIn is largely about business, and it will no doubt continue to be INEVITABLY... political. 📣 And that's OK! ALL HERE SHOULD KNOW that #politics and political discussions are meant to be a part of LinkedIn (which is owned by Microsoft, btw). ⌨️ #Linkedin properly follows the PESTEL business model. And as a result, serious LinkedIn users will notice that this social media platform has an AMAZING DATA BASE! It's like a huge library, and interactively a lot like going back to college. PESTEL works. ❎ PESTEL's 'P' is for 'political.' Realistically, business is inseparable from politics. To avoid politics is to deny the influence of organized money on policy making affecting business, economics, ecology, social & employment issues, etc. More about PESTEL from Wash. State University here: 👉 https://lnkd.in/g7idMZcE Finally, check out this recent analysis of social media use by Pew Research. 👉 https://lnkd.in/g2ATajuU #PESTEL #businessmodel #PoliticalDebate #OnlineCommunity #SocialMedia -------- 18 June, 2024 --------

I create content viewed 300M times/year, driving 7 figures in revenue, but my parents still think I'm unemployed.
The best social strategies are at the crossroads of spontaneity and planning. Over index into either and you will be operating at a less than optimal level.
