Yay! My fantastic colleagues at Ionautics have commercialized our diagnostic method on how to quantify the ionized flux fraction in HiPIMS discharges. I’ve used it for characterizing DLC process conditions and we’ll hopefully have a first paper on that during Q1-2025.

Professor Richard Hogg, CTO of III-V Epi, has released his next Expert Article, ‘A comparison between Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) and Metal Organic Chemical Vapour Phase Epitaxy (MOCVD) technologies’. This can be read on the III-V Epi website. The article compares the MBE and MOCVD epitaxial growth technologies used in III-V semiconductor synthesis and explores the applications they best suit and why. Thorlabs’ new Pure Air Circulator Unit provides an extremely clean, dry atmosphere for closed-loop experimental setups with a three-stage filtration system that removes moisture, particulates, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The included filters are designed to quickly and reliably purge contaminants from inside sealed experimental volumes, generating very-high-purity environmental conditions.
