Recruiters and Hiring Managers 📣 Please be mindful of the candidates you may have scheduled for interviews over the next few weeks, especially if you are hiring for remote roles or are hiring in Western NC, Tennessee, Virginia, Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina. Flooding has washed away homes/ destroyed neighborhoods and there are thousands still unaccounted for. Internet access is limited, cell signal is terrible, and many of the roads are inaccessible. Many of these candidates will likely miss their interview. Be understanding and have a plan to follow up with them in a few weeks once the communities begin to rebuild and recover. Now is not the time to push quotas or metrics for your recruiters in these areas. I'm reviewing resumes for a Senior Director of Client Services search, and about 80% of applicants don't indicate the size of teams they've managed. Quick reminder to always include this data point. Someone who has managed a team of 8 individual contributors is in a different bucket than someone with experience managing a global team of 100+ with multiple management layers. Bottom line: you want to find a company that's a good fit for your level of experience. Being significantly overqualified or underqualified for a position is a sure-fire way to set yourself up for failure. That's all, folks! #jobtips #jobsearch #resumetips
