Our lives are often woven tightly with our work, blurring the lines between office space and a second home. Within these walls, our coworkers become our family. The holiday season arrives, draped in the warmth of family gatherings, and it's customary for companies to orchestrate Christmas festivities and gatherings. I understand the excitement and importance behind these events. It's a chance to share the captivating spirit, unwind after a demanding year, and foster connections within the team. Yet, why confine this spirit to a once-a-year celebration? Shouldn't this camaraderie and enthusiasm be a perennial feature? Employees thrive on continuous appreciation and recognition. They perform well—acknowledge their efforts. Facing an issue—extend a caring ear. Feeling off—allow a day of rest. Because, at the core, we are all humans, struggling with our share of challenges, emotions, and personal battles. Sometimes, acknowledging this and offering a warm beverage and a heartfelt conversation can make all the difference. What holiday office activities do you cherish most? #ChristmasCheerAllYear #TeamUnity #SupportiveCulture

Adopting a volunteer mindset at work can make a big difference 🌟 What is a volunteer mindset, you ask? Simple. You care about your work and the people you work with beyond your job description. You can ask "Aren't we all doing it for the money?". Sure, but don't let that reduce your job to a mere checklist of tasks. This task-oriented mentality is a self-imposed limitation to your career. Here's a quick story that changed my perspective: I usually head to my office a little early to avoid the morning traffic. On one such day, when I reached office, I needed to use the restroom. A sanitary staff member had just finished cleaning it. He removed the "Caution: Wet floor" sign, smiled at me and left. As I stepped in, something caught my attention. He had folded the edge of the toilet paper roll in a neat little triangle shape. He's expected to just clean the place periodically and tick the timesheet paper. Nobody would have asked him to fold that paper. That little piece of triangle hit me like a bulldozer. It shouted at me, "This space is clean and ready for you to use". This right here, is the work of a volunteer. This unnamed, often overlooked gentleman became a source of inspiration to me. Small acts of care have a huge impact on you and everyone around you. Find your paper triangle. 💼🤝💪

CELEBRATE "F*CK UP FRIDAY!" You read that right. It's "F*CK UP FRIDAY," at least at trivago, a travel-related company that has had its share of f*ck ups, and one very big f*ck up. As they said, "At trivago we don’t just encourage f*ckups, we literally celebrate them...We hold our own monthly ‘F*ckup Fridays’ at the office, where talents (and even our MDs!) come together over a few beers, to share their biggest failures and what they learned from them." trivago went on to say, "When we are so dedicated to improving every day, why is it that we celebrate our failures so much? It is intrinsically built into our culture to try, and to fail. We test every idea in order to increase our knowledge of any given subject, product, process or situation. We believe the more knowledge you have, the easier it is to come to the most qualified decisions. Even if you have to get there the hard way. Failure is a natural by-product of innovation. And innovation is what we live for." So, if you believe trivago has a good idea, have a great Friday, grab a beer, and share your f*ck ups!

St Brigid's Day In Ireland is just 2 weeks away! Businesses can capitalize on this unique event (which is also a Bank Holiday for the very first time) to influence consumer behaviour and run unique campaigns to to connect with Irish audiences or those interested in Irish culture and heritage. Whether it's offering flash Sales, Special Offers, highlighting Irish products, celebrating Irish culture, or engaging in storytelling around the themes of spring and renewal, there are numerous creative ways to incorporate St. Brigid's Day into your marketing campaigns. Before planning any campaign, it is crucial to understand consumer psychology during key events for building effective strategies. See some of the key drivers that influence consumer behaviour during an event like St Brgids Day would be: a) Cultural Pride and Identity: This day is a celebration of Irish heritage and identity. The emotional connection to national pride and cultural roots is strong. People are more inclined to engage with content and products that resonate with their sense of national identity, especially those living away from Ireland who might be seeking a connection to their roots. b) Community and Belonging: The day is traditionally associated with community gatherings and celebrations. Consumers are drawn towards products and experiences that promise a sense of community and shared experience, such as community events, workshops, or products that are part of a broader cultural celebration. c) Renewal and Fresh Starts: Symbolizing the beginning of spring, it’s a time associated with new beginnings and renewal. Products or services that align with themes of renewal, rejuvenation, or starting afresh (like spring cleaning products, wellness packages, or even financial planning services for the new season) may see increased interest. d)Nostalgia and Tradition: The customs and traditions surrounding St. Brigid's Day, like making St. Brigid's Cross, evoke nostalgia. Consumers might seek products or experiences that remind them of past celebrations or family traditions. This can include traditional crafts, foods, or even storytelling events. e) Scarcity and Exclusivity: Limited edition products or services create a sense of urgency and exclusivity, compelling consumers to make quick purchases to avoid missing out. Example: A jewellery store could release a limited edition line of pendants inspired by St. Brigid's Cross, emphasizing that only a small number will be produced. If you are a small business looking for innovative ways to promote your products or services, feel free to reach out to us. Another month has flown by! 🚀 And what a whirlwind it's been... 💬Catching up with the brilliant Ian Ireland to chat about the Marketing Summit Cumbria and his speaker slot. Can't wait! ☕Meetings with two fantastic local marketers where we discussed all things marketing and business over a brew and lunch. Collaboration over competition always! 🖍️Planning and prep for a client's summer marketing campaign. The creative process is my favourite part of the job! 👨👩👧👧Attending 2x networking events, catching up with some truly inspiring business owners. It's all about building connections and sharing ideas. 😎Managed to sneak in a last-minute getaway with the girls to watch the World Match Play at Winter Gardens 🎯. Plus, had two fun-filled days with the grandbabies as the summer holidays kick off! 🌞 And, of course, there's been the day-to-day work keeping everything ticking along. It's not all roses though, let's be honest... There's also been some wobbles, some ridiculously long, stressful days, definitely some tears, frustration and the usual doubts and occurrences of procrastination 🤦♀️ - which is usually when it's time for me to stop, take a break and curl up on the sofa to watch a Disney film - my guilty pleasure! 🙄 Phew! Looking forward to a bit more downtime over the next few weeks as I help out with childcare during the holidays. Although, let's be real, 'downtime' might not be the right word when looking after a 5 and 3-year-old! 😅 #EndOfMonthReview #BusyButFun #MarketingLife #Networking #FamilyTime #CollaborationNotCompetition #SummerVibes #BusinessAndPleasure #MarketingSummitCumbria #WorkingWithPassion
