What. A. Year!✨ Time literally flies, and last week marked one year since I started as a BD manager at ZiMAD (can you believe? because I can’t), and also my first year in the gamedev industry overall. 📝Here are a few takeaways from my newbie experience in this whole new world that weren't obvious to me at first: • You’re going to feel like a total dummy sometimes, and that’s okay — there's a ton to take in, and you’re not supposed to know it all or succeed right from the start (surprise, surpriseee🙃) • Switching to gamedev is like jumping onto a high-speed bullet train in China. The industry is moving fast and always evolving, so you’ve got to learn all the time. • Working cross-team is the best part — your colleagues from other departments will get you the most valuable insights into every corner of the business • Making independent decisions even with your regular tasks is a real confidence booster, and helps you feel more self-assured • The industry isn’t always all rainbows and unicorns as it may seem first, but that’s what keeps it interesting🤌 All in all, it’s been one big, exciting, challenging, and rewarding year, and I’m ready for whatever’s next🚀 (+fav summer shot with my colleagues)
