Impact catalyst connecting leaders and teams for inspired, bold action on climate & nature through @DoGoodFaster @Unreasonable @DOLectures @TYFAdventure Founder. Pioneer @VivoBarefoot.
Citizen Assembly: Design Input Where it Matters // There's epic opportunity to create inspired place- and topic-based change interventions that optimise insight and outcome by tapping into the knowledge and nuance that's hard to access for even the most committed public servants. With hands tied by short timelines and tight budgets, it's hard for all but the most persistent leaders to find the resources to fully engage communities and people who really do care in the process of designing or implementing change. It's been excellent to see Jon Alexander's rapidly developing work in this space, including recently hosting conversations with Taiwan's Minister for Digital Affairs and catalyst behind her country's radical, collaborative engagement of citizens, Audrey Tang. With health, food systems, education and climate response all short fo resources and on-the-ground connection between what's happening and what's needed, dramatically increased levels of citizen engagement are essential for scaled-up response. North Star Transition's work on the Wye-Usk Transition Lab is a solid example of the ground-together community building needed to align stories and possibilities compelling enough to attract large-scale funding. When talking to parents and teachers, including those at Green School Bali where Denise DeLuca and I are working with Benjamin Freud, Ph.D., Dr Kevin House, FCCT, FRSA and colleagues, most reckon that learners can start to learn to shape the places and spaces they live in and love, from around six or seven years old. I wonder what might it take to release the imagination and collective insight of a billion next-generation citizens? Human development refers to the process of improving people's well-being, capabilities, and opportunities. It affects everyone globally by shaping health, education, income, and overall quality of life. Major drivers for more equality are: 1. Equitable access to education 👩🎓 👨🎓 2. healthcare, and 🏥 3. Economic opportunities. 🏦 Biggest needs, of the time, include: 1. Addressing poverty through income equality measures 2. Ensuring quality healthcare and education for all, and 3. Fostering inclusive governance and institutions that protect human rights. These factors are crucial for sustainable and equitable development worldwide. What are your thoughts on how, some of, these can be achieved. #humandevelopment #education #healthcare #poverty https://lnkd.in/gwW9m5hA

World Day of Social Justice reminds us each year of the need to build fairer and more equitable societies; equal access for all to the same standards of education, employment, healthcare, and more. It aims to help us recognise that, despite all the progress we have made as human beings, there are still many barriers that prevent millions of people from living a fair life.
