Telecom networks are complex systems that can be divided into three major parts: Access/Wireless, Transmission/Transport, and Core networks. Each part plays a crucial role in ensuring the connectivity of the network and serving its main purpose, communication. At the lowest level of the network from the users' side, the Access/Wireless Networks act as the components, interfaces, and protocols that connect users and user equipment (UE) to the rest of the Telecom network. The Transmission/Transport Network is responsible for connecting all the network components to each other. This function involves almost every component, and there are specific protocols and technologies, such as fiber optics, used for transmitting large amounts of data. Finally, the Core Network acts as the brain of the telecom network. It controls, processes, and stores the data and signals of the Telecom Network. All the main switches are parts of the core network, and the data and signaling flows from and to the core network to be processed in order to fulfill the main purpose of communication.
