I've been saying this for a few months now and was met with some strong feelings on social media. I have coached a few people who are really shocked at how long it's taken them to find work despite the jobs reports being so strong. It's not all it appears to be. Part-time jobs are not going to solve for the people who are out of work. Some people who are discriminated against or don't feel safe or welcome in their jobs are not gonna take any old job offered to them. Recruiters are overwhelmed with sometimes 5x more applications than they usually get for roles. Blind applications are not helping. We need strong leaders in business to solve complex problems and not just focus on quarter by quarter earnings and shareholder payouts. Short term solutions are not a fix. I have been having this discussion with Anessa Fike Morgan Williams 🏡 Kim Rohrer Cassidy Edwards Sarika Lamont Alex Seiler Noah W. Hebba Youssef Stacey Nordwall Catalina Colman Jessica D. Winder and Tracie Sponenberg. Leaders need to start leading with a people centered approach. Your employees will be your customers. Your customers will be your employees.
