🤝 Thank you, Prof. Elisa Bertino, Nuria Oliver, PhD, Prof. David Harel, Natalia Olson-Urtecho and Francesc Fajula de Quintana, for your positive feedback about the impact of the Erasmus Mundus joint Master in Artificial Intelligence (EMAI) during your visit to EnginyEria UPF last month!   The members of the External Advisory Board stayed in #Barcelona for two days, and Prof. Vladimir Estivill-Castro, PhD, Prof. Angel Lozano, Prof. BORIS BELLALTA, Prof. Vanesa Daza, Prof. Jorge Lobo, Prof. MIQUEL OLIVER, Prof. Horacio Saggion, carme buisan, Aurelio Ruiz Garcia and others, hosted them at the Department's premises. Conversations about the different research and teaching activities developed took place and the presentation of new projects and insightful ideas. In one of these sessions, Prof. Vicenç Gómez Cerdà presented the #EMAI programme, its curriculum, main features, mobility options, and specialisation tracks. 🔬STEM Talent Fund deadline reminder One week to go before the application deadline for our European Grants Programme on Wednesday 8 May. The programme supports projects which identify and develop talented young people at Olympiad level in mathematics and science across Europe. It funds organisations committed to expanding their impact and enhancing their resilience and sustainability. The Scientific Arab Forum Our members; shaimaa Reda Shaimaa R.Reda Reda is a master's student at the University of Helsinki studying and researching plant stress biology. Current research Reda's research aims to understand why nuclear proteins plant cells form nuclear bodies under stress. She is currently studying the RCD1 nuclear protein, which was discovered to interact with many transcription factors and regulators that are essential for plant function. Future research vision Reda will continue her research career in the field of plant stress biology. She is particularly interested in how plants interact at a subcellular level on exposure to stress conditions, such as drought or salinity, and how to manipulate these interactions to boost seed priming and plant productivity during stress. https://lnkd.in/dNreRCX8 University of Helsinki #biology

🌟 Throwback to 2017! 🌟 Throwing it back to a memorable moment from my teenage years when, along with my schoolmates, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in the VIII Congress "Investiga I+D+i" in Madrid. At just sixteen years old, I was one of five students selected from Colegio Urkide and it was a transformative experience. Alongside peers from nineteen other educational institutions, we engaged in various activities and attended enlightening sessions led by experts from CSIC. One topic that particularly stood out was Nanotechnology and New Materials, with a focus on "Nanotechnology in the Face of Sustainable Development Challenges." Little did I know then that this experience would ignite a passion within me for sustainable development. Reflecting on that journey, I'm grateful for the seeds of curiosity planted during that Congress. It sparked my interest in continuing to explore sustainable solutions and strategies as I've grown older. Looking back, I'm proud of the enthusiasm and eagerness to learn that characterized my teenage self. It's a reminder of the importance of embracing every opportunity for growth and learning, no matter how young we may be.
