LogiMAT Trade Show 2024 has ended now. I enjoyed all the time spent there. Here comes my view of the show: It was nice to see that there was a dedicated hall for location tracking and identification. However, not all location tracking companies were here, some of them were showcasing their technology with their partners in other halls. It is more and more common to have some demos on site, but they were limited in use-case and area. It would be nice to see for example entire hall 2 covered with real-time location capabilities. Hoping for that next year! Takeaways: - Real-time Location tracking (#RTLS) especially when using #UWB radios is still considered an expensive investment - There is a huge expectation towards the upcoming Bluetooth 6.0 standards locating capabilities - Location tracking projects are still mainly driven by single use-cases Thanks Heiko Tiedmann and Emre Gürbüz for sharing your views on the industry. Also was a very heart warming moment to find Moritz Kompenhans who is working on projects where #RTLS data is used to analyze and optimize physical process flows. FloWide shares the same vision with you, that results of this kind of analysis actually creates a lot of value. Still see that most of the time this value remains hidden with location data collected and stored but not processed. Based on the experience I've setup a small action plan for FloWide that we will work on: - Show that there is no one-size-fits-all solution with location tracking. Most of the time manufacturing sites need a #hybridRTLS approach - Show that #UWB technology is not as expensive at it seems and should be an essential part of a #hybridRTLS - Make the communication around location tracking about sharing best practices and also lessons learned from failed projects and not a technology war - Show more and more examples of how location data could be processed Will do regular posting on Linkedin according to the action plan, please follow me if interested
