Happy new year! I get asked alllll the time what I recommend using for a laptop bag, and the short answer is - it depends! Do you like a shoulder bag, a roller bag, a backpack, a briefcase...? Everyone's needs, preferences, and physical abilities are different. If I told you to get a Longchamp Le Pliage, but you have chronic back pain, you might think I'm totally wrong. Maybe a rolling bag is best, or a hiking backpack so you can share the weight with your hips. The executive, the EA, the commute, and the situations the bag will be in all play a factor in what bag will work the best, so give #askanassistant episode 46 a listen and let me know what bag you choose! https://lnkd.in/eAHSa5Ne

Listen to today's podcast... My life is too complicated. I feel like I am always rushing to get somewhere. I feel like I don’t spend any quality time with my family. What suggestions do you have for getting my life under control? This is what one conference attendee asked me. Many of us feel our lives are too complicated. We rush from one destination to the next – rush through traffic to get to work – then rush back again to pick up the children – and back to rushing from one sporting lesson to the next. Rush! We get frustrated. In the end we forget how to talk to each other. We don’t remember what it is like to spend quality time together just being. Take One Action Today To Build Your #Resiliency! Here Is My Tip For Building Resilience and Celebrating National Family Week: Trends in our society have been to achieve more, get more, do more. A contrary movement is underway called Simplification. It can be hard to do, but the rewards can be great. Simplification means reorganizing your life and routines to focus on the meaningful, and to minimize the chaos. The more you can par down your life by simplifying your routines or de-junking your physical space, the less hectic it will be for you and your family. A recent poll found that on average, people waste over 12 hours a week on stuff. If you extrapolate that out, that's 624 hours a year, equivalent to 26 DAYS. That means we lose 26 days a year, or almost a month, to non-value-added activities! That does not include the time we are sleeping, only waking hours. What if we could take back that time and apply it to our personal development? What if we took that time to improve our organizations, our teams, our families, and our communities? What if everyone on your team focused on the same value-added exercises such as working with an executive coach? The possibilities are endless. So the next time you are asked the question, "Where do you see yourself in 5 years," instead of mumbling through some cheesy answer that equates to I plan on wasting 5 months on stuff, you could say I plan on investing 3,120 hours into being a better version of myself. Join Doc and Rich on the Protect Your Patch podcast as we discuss the importance of time management and personal development. #timemanagement #executivecoaching #nonvalueadded #valueadded #wastedtime #personaldevelopment
