Here's another store that's often considered to have no competition, LensCrafters. I've heard people say that its parent company Luxottica has a monopoly. But it turns out there are several other stores that sell eyeglasses and provide eye exams. Of course, many of them are departments inside other retail stores. LensCrafters is a mass-market premium brand so many of its competitors are positioned as discount stores where you can buy eyeglasses for lower prices. I'd say that its eyeglasses are better than the ones you can find at other stores. Additionally, it's a high-tech company that invests in tools and equipment at its stores as well. This article might still be useful if you want to save money on eyeglasses and don't want to order them online, though. The alternative eyeglass stores that I listed in this article all have optometrists that provide eye exams and prescriptions. https://lnkd.in/gs92r-gx

In India Eric Novinson it's Lenskart that has its focus fixed firmly on the segment. And given India's population, that's a huge advantage :-)

Crazy how many of those belong to retail chains.
