What started as an idea by Lester Leviton and Bradley leviton in 2009 has grown beyond what anyone could have imagined. Rent Connect started from zero. Zero properties, zero employees, and no partnerships. Now 1000+ properties, 40+ family members, 500+ landlords, and 70+ local authority connections - it has been an extraordinary journey. With each temporary accommodation we have provided, we have transformed lives, uplifted individuals and supported families whilst building stronger communities. Our mission has always been quality housing for all and ending homelessness. It’s what we work towards daily and what we’ll continue to do. 1000 properties is only the beginning. 💚 #RentConnect #1000Properties #milestone #EndingHomelessness

GrowSmart CEO Nancy Smith advocates in favor of redeveloping historic buildings as a means to tackling the housing crisis felt across Maine. https://lnkd.in/giZaKGdj

‼️IMPORTANT NEWS‼️⬇️ The average income of tenants in USDA’s Section 515 rental apartments is less than $16,000 a year. Without these homes, these folks could face homelessness. Yet thousands of these apartments are being lost each year. To turn the tide on this crisis, HAC is establishing the Center for Rural Multifamily Housing Preservation to bring all of our technical assistance, lending, policy, and research strength to bear to transform the preservation process and preserve these critical units.🏘️ Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eMtpQwQV

Big News in Housing Legislation. 🏠 The Scottish Government has introduced a groundbreaking Bill aimed at transforming the housing landscape, by tackling key issues like tenant protections and homelessness prevention. Here's a glimpse into what the Bill proposes: - Rent Control Measures: Including assessments of rent conditions, powers for rent control areas, and limits on rent increases. - Tenant Rights: Introducing rights for pet ownership and property alterations for tenants. - Homelessness Prevention: Mandating actions from relevant bodies to prevent homelessness + making local authorities act sooner, and support for tenants affected by domestic abuse. A bold step towards a fairer, more inclusive housing system. Success will now depend on successful implementation.🤞🏽Looking forward to doing our bit. https://lnkd.in/eQGGRYDw
