HOW AFFECTIVE IS OUTDOOR EXPERIENTIAL ART? It's a good question but one look at the foot traffic and engagement in Millennium Park answers it in a millisecond. The park gets an average of 25 million visitors per year and the reflective pool with the 50ft tall video heads gets 3-4 million fans annually. The Cloud Gate (Bean) generates massive economic benefits for Chicago, attracting around 5 million visitors a year. That's creative placemaking at its best, working the crowds.
