Literally. The amount of BS on the average job application shows how out-of-touch 90% of hiring managers are. Most #genz have been using social media their whole lives and can outperform most older millennials with more experience. I'd rather hire someone who has attributes like wittiness, understanding of social queues, and high social listening skills none of which require a bachelor's degree or 10 years of work experience. #hiringmanagers #startupecosystem #workforce

Around a month into starting my job, my sister said to me: ‘You’re so much happier now.’ And she was right. I started out my career happy to do most jobs. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted or what a healthy workplace looked like. I was just happy to have a job. It was only when I landed my current role that I realized what a difference it makes to work: - With curious and driven people.  - In a role that I love. - In an industry that interests me.  - With an incredible product. And it’s all of those things that have made me so much happier and more confident. - My team makes me feel welcome and also pushes me to be better.  - The industry and role make work meaningful.  - The product is something believe in. It’s made me a better employee and a better marketer. It’s made me happier. I’m not trying to brag here. Just to show it makes a huge difference when you go from just being ‘happy to have a job’ to being happy BECAUSE of your job. If you’re in a role you don’t like you can find one you do. 🕯 I am blowing out my 2 candles tomorrow 🕯 2 years at #Getronics, and the journey continues! 🎉 As I step into my 3rd year at Getronics, I can't help but reflect on the adventure so far. Has it always been easy? Definitely not 😶 . Have there been stressful moments where I questioned my sanity? Absolutely! Will it get easier? Well, let's just say the challenges are part of the fun, right? 😏 Working in Talent Acquisition is like being on a rollercoaster: there are highs, lows, unexpected twists, and moments that make you hold your breath. From the countless hours of sourcing and interviews that lead nowhere to the not-so-happy hiring managers and demanding clients, it's all part of the ride. But you know what? That's what makes the job so rewarding. 😍 On the flip side, I've had the privilege to meet so many amazing candidates, discover diverse profiles, and learn about roles in IT that I never knew existed (seriously, IT is a whole different world!). I met some some hiring managers who truly make our job more valuable and fulfilling. It’s a great reminder of why we do what we do.
